along with moving HL SIPP, ISA and F&S accounts to III, i have transferred a Cash ISA to them...this is now showing:)

not sure whether i ought to be putting some cash into the F&S account, or perhaps the SIPP, in order to ensure that the first round of management charges are taken. i know this has been discussed, but what is the most efficient way to set things up?

i have all accounts' Dividend Status set as "Not reinvested". the funds will all be accumulation funds anyway. and buying numbers of shares when dividends are paid out is too costly. i would rather leave as cash and then add to further lump sums to reinvest in decent chunks. sounds like the right plan?

Planteria - I've deposited some cash to cover the first quarter charges, assuming that the charges will be due because the accounts are open even 'though the funds aren't there yet.
And, like you, I've set the dividend status to "not reinvested" because I'm too stingy to pay the dealing charges when I can save them up and buy two times per quarter for free (using the free trades that come with the charges).

    thanks re. "Not reinvested".

where have you deposited the cash, into your SIPP, or your F&S account?

I paid it into what CSD calls the "Dealing Account".

there was discussion here re. this, and the verdict was that the best place to have the charges taken from was the SIPP account. not sure if in this thread, or elsewhere..

Oops - sorry, my mistake; yes, I paid it into my "Trading Account" with III, and my "Dealing Account" with CSD....
I don't have a SIPP so can't comment, except to say that I saw that discussion and I think you're right.

    Hi

We have set up linked family accounts with iii, and are awaiting our ISA transfer from HL. We have linked my account to my wife's one to save the additional fee, and now we want to open a SIPP in her name. We understand that only the "main" account can get the free ISA with a SIPP.

Does anyone know what qualifies as the "main" account? is it simply the one which was used to set up the link to the other account?

    thanks

    TT

    Hi
It's really helpful to read all your interesting posts.

I am planning to move my ISA to III and was thinking of moving my SIPP to Bestinvest (which according to Langcat has one of the cheapest charges for SIPPs at only 0.3%).

I think in my case that, if I had both my SIPP and ISA with III, there would maybe not be such a great saving as for some other people. I was planning to make regular, monthly investments into about 3 funds/ITs in my ISA , which would cost about £4.50 per month or £54 per year, but this is deducted from the £80 annual ISA fee (as is any dividend reinvestment charge). Therefore the ISA admin fee would effectively be reduced by quite a large amount.
I just wanted to check that I have not missed anything?
(II have confirmed to me on the phone that I can get a rebate for mnthly investment commission & dividend reinvestment)

    Sorry for the long post!
    Thanks everyone.
