I've just noticed III has a Refer a Friend* promotion. It looks like it isn't new, but I hadn't seen it before. So, how many of you will be taking advantage of that?

I just noticed it as well tonight. For me it would feel a bit like promoting Bernie Madoff's great big ponzie scheme.

My ISA transfer just completed today after 8 months but am still waiting for the SIPP and of course the corrections for incorrect units, missing dividends and tax credits.

I will be starting a new thread when ever I'm ready to leave these suckers for the next fund platform.

    .

Oh no, don't tell me I have to now review the transferred holdings and check that no dividend payments are missing. I held my ISAs directly with the Fund Manager's previously and only ever looked at the 6 monthly statements where dividends were shown.

Putting them onto one online platform was supposed to make things easier. To find out whether there were any missing, I would have to find out when dividends are due and then check each line of stock.

It would probably be a good idea to go through all your funds and check when the dividends were due.

In all honestly, iii, FNZ or whoever they outsource the work to are so incredibly incompetent that it's not good for your mental wellbeing to invest in dividend or income paying funds through this fund platform. If you still intend to stay with Interactive Investor, a safer choice would be buy accumulation units of the same fund. That way you wouldn't have to worry about chasing them for dividends and tax credits every month.

I, myself, have had enough and will start the move as soon as the current transfer has been completed.

I wonder if the sharedealing side of their platform (which they run themselves) differs from their funds platform (for which they use Cofunds). I don't have any income paying OEICs, but I do have some ETFs that pay dividends and these have always turned up within a week or so of being due (although this itself is slower than I'd normally expect). Fortunately for me, I just roll up this income with my next ISA subscription and reinvest it, so time is not of the essence.

Coming back to the discussion at hand, it is not only the ongoing dividends to worry about - if there were any payments made while the funds were in limbo, these may have been received by the other platform and would have to be forwarded by cheque, so there is scope for those going missing as well.

I transferred an ISA/trading account from Cavendish/Fidelity to iii and Fidelity continued to pay the dividends into my bank account while the funds were in limbo.
  • Hi,

I am also over 4 months for my transfer from HL to II, usual complaints, standard passed to transfer team reply.

They seem to need to be nudged every step.

One thing that bugs me is that I have lost out on loyalty bonus/fund rebate in all this time, I did mention it to II in last complaint, but say it will be 30 days for a response.

    Anybody tried for compensation?

    the corrections for incorrect units

The relative whose transfer has completed is just about to advise II that one of her funds is showing twice the number of units that should be there........

My wife was told last month that she would receive £100 in compensation for transferring her funds to the wrong account. We have yet to see a trace of the £100. I wonder if we should file another complaint for not being paid compensation... ;)

Same thing happened to me for 4 funds, told them two weeks ago and they've corrected it for one fund. I'm a bit reluctant to spend more of my time helping them recover their money but I guess I should get it sorted out, as it's bound to create a problem in the future.
