Me? You're the one who won't tell us who these mysterious "relatives" are. We should be told.

Anyway, I may have a new tale to tell about III next week.
    Stay tuned folks!

I'm now over 5 months into making an in specie transfer. Unfortunately, some funds of significant value are currently still "in transit", not showing on either HL or III. One of them has now been in limbo for nearly 2 months - so I am most definitely out of the market!

While I am not trying to justify ii's incompetence, surely if you are transferring in-specie you are not out of the market.

You still own your investments, it's just the registration that is faulty.

As Freecall points out, you are not out of the market, you are unable to trade. When your investments finally turn up, you will not have missed out on any of the gains (or losses).

III has today confirmed that they have received my transfer instruction for my cash ISA. They have given me their standard timeframe of 8 weeks for the transfer and also pointed out many transfers are being delayed due to high volumes. However, this is a cash ISA, so I will be expecting them to complete it in 14 days and complaining if it takes any longer.

Poor use of the English language on my part - the in specie funds in limbo more accurately make me impotent in the market.
I would contend that it might be better for the blood pressure to be in cash for a few weeks to facilitate a smooth(er) transfer than to be in funds that you have no control over for an unknown length of time.
Maybe I should just chill out - I'm only 22 weeks into the transfer process....
  • I chilled out for the first few months!

Now I'm afraid I'm getting wound up.

When they listed funds awaiting transfer and I told them i didn't own any on the list they asked me to tell them what was outstanding. Only then did they say it was a mistake. They made no apology however.

Despite making a 'formal complaint' and threatening the regulator nothing has happened other than The usual - we have passed this to the transfer team. I say nothing but I have had a further two 'your transfer will be finished in 3 days emails (on the same day). as usual it wasn't.

Sorry this is a rant. Has anybody got any ideas on how to put a bomb up this company?

I've suggested elsewhere that some of the mistakes, where people are ending up with things in their ISA that shouldn't be there, would probably be of concern to HMRC's SSO compliance unit.

Formal complaints can be referred to the FOS, but it's not in their remit to get companies to clean up their act. Several of us have already expressed our concerns to the FCA regarding the process in general, but they don't seem to have much interest in engaging consumers.
  • I have had mixed experiences with II. Hopefully all is now sorted until the August dividends fail to appear! I have found a member of staff named Aileen (don't know how she spells it but that is how it sounded!) to be efficient and follow through and to call back when she says she will. On the last occasion (not Aileen) I asked if transferring without charges within the first year was still their policy and then told them if the problem wasn't resolved within 7 working days then DH and I would go elsewhere. Maybe a coincidence but it was sorted within 3.

And will I receive my income on Thursday/Friday.

And the answer is no.....:mad:I gave them a ring and was told that it could take up to ten working days for their dividend team to get the money from FNZ and apply the money to the account.....it's a good thing I'm not desperate for the cash!

However, I will complain if the money isn't there by 14th August!

On a more positive note, while my relative is still waiting for his one fund to transfer from HL, the transfer to his II trading account of the shares in a DRIP scheme has gone smoothly - he says he's going to attempt a bed and isa - brave or what!:rotfl:

I've just noticed III has a Refer a Friend* promotion. It looks like it isn't new, but I hadn't seen it before. So, how many of you will be taking advantage of that?
