I think it's all a bit of a con; perhaps buying from CPW or retail is a better option than from a supplier who locks it.

(Regarding the 520, maybe it being locked has done you a favour :); my work decided to roll them out, but they were so horrible I decided to buy a s/h iPhone 4 for around the £100 mark in preference to using it.)

I am quite happy with using the Nokia Lumas 520

I am about to request an unlocking code from EE - for my OWN Samsung Note (GT N7000) Which I am unable to get unlocked elsewhere - EE quote £20+vat and claim to take up to 2 months / 8 weeks to get the code back to me !!
When I say my own - I paid over £250 for the phone - 2 years ago ...

    :rotfl:

Your naive posts are always amusing to read whatever board you post on.

Everybody owns their mobile from the day that they receive it but the cost is obviously subsidised by the network provider, hence they are locked to that network.

You say that you "paid over £250 for the phone" to T-Mobile but to buy a SIM free unlocked GT N7000 two years ago would have cost you more than twice what you paid for yours - the choice was always yours!

I received a resonmse from T-Mobile/EE today. I am disapopinted with there response the standard letter went on and on and on saying how sorry they were. I still have not received the instructions or the unlocking code.

Just disapointed, I will now progress to the CISAS

You do realise you need to wait 8 weeks or get a deadlock letter from T-Mobile to refer the complaint to CISAS?

I'm also not all that sure that an unlock code would fall under the remit of CISAS.

And it was explained in your previous post why this happens, you got a subsidised device locked to the network. That's why they sell 'sim free' devices at a higher price. But you don't seem to want to acknowledge this as it isn't what you want to hear.
