    These are the ones I'll be trying:

    I don't have a blender, and I only use dried beans, so I'll just be over-cooking the beans a bit on purpose so that I can 'blend' them with my hand mixer.

    Grrr really not doing well this month! Spent just under £40 in the last 2 days and don't really have a lot to show for it, and only have £16 left in the budget for the next 2 weeks!

    With the amount of food we have in, we could probably do it. I did an audit of the big freezer in the garage and the small freezer box in the kitchen, and I was really surprised how much there is. I've put it all in a spreadsheet, but I'm really not feeling it with thinking of meals lately, so I need to pull myself together! I also don't have any fresh veg in, so it would all be frozen (I do have a lot of that!) but I think I'll have to accept the fact that we'll probably be over budget again this month!

  • £3.88 in Sainsbugs today as OH wanted to buy snacks for his travelling this week so just picked up eggs & chocolate to make brownies, YS quiche, YS hot cross buns (in freezer for the weekend) and YS potato salad for lunches. Also spent a few pennies on ice cream today as was out with the OH.

  • Just got back from my big shop and after vouchers and nectar points it came to about £10. Very happy with that. I bought a piece of beef for Sunday lunch and have also stocked up on fruit and veggies and all the cream in the world! I have visitors coming so that's my excuse :D

    I have my first attempt at homemade nakd bars in the fridge right now. At over £2 per packet I thought it was time to try making my own. I will let them set a bit until I try my first bar but I can ready tell from the bowl scrapings that these are delicious! :j

    Woop woop! Did the whole week's supplies at Mr A's, including Easter for 6 adults (9 bottles of wine too) for £65.91 :cool::D

    Added to that was a call this morning from DS who works for Mr T's distribution hub in the chilled section. He got me a 1.25kg finest leg of outdoor reared pork for £4.08p. Half is for tonight with some mash I put in the freezer, carrots, parsnips and sweetcorn and a bit of Paxo for me and some Yorkshire puds ff. There should be some left for OH's sarnies tomorrow if I can keep him away from it beforehand ;)

    We certainly aren't going to starve and found that smoked salmon trimmings and sava cream cheese massively reduced the former price of this treat. I'm still learning but thanks to Mysupermarket.co.uk I had the heads up on the cheapest place to shop.

    I'm hoping to reduce further as I get used to YS's :D OH was well impressed!

    Marvellous! :p:money::D

    You can use yoghurt in making cupcakes or cakes. Or mix it with lightly whipped cream. I sometimes layer chopped fruit and this yoghurt/cream mix in a small glass and then top with sprinkles. The boyfriend loves these (I think he loves the sprinkles best of all though ;) ) Or you could have it for breakfast with cereal mixed in.
