Not seen a 12v slow cooker but agree they would definitely be a drain on batteries. I know that rather than 12v people are running a 240v slow cooker from an inverter whilst travelling - but would rather not risk that myself!

Here is the link to the one I bought, but I would not recommend http://www.amazon.com/RoadPro-RPSL-350-Quart-Slow-Cooker/dp/B0013IR88A/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1397161959&sr=1-1&keywords=slow+cooker#productDetailsit. It is tiny, much better to use a conventional one, but our motorhome is "off grid", solar, gas and geni.

Spent in Mr M today mostly on fresh stuff. Spent £39.13 so total up to £161.76. I am away for the w/e and again 21-25th so I am hoping catering for the visitors between those dates will balance it all out.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

I had a small spend of £2 yesterday, as the g pig needed food. Managed to walk around a$da looking at their 'deals', without buying anything! I think I am beginning to turn a corner as regards my food spending, as the whole time I was looking around, I was thinking about how I didn't need any of it and that I already had loads at home! Go me!!!

The lo bolognese mix fed both bf and me last night. He wanted us to go and buy garlic bread to go with it, so I made some by using a par bake baguette and some garlic butter, as I usually have those things in the house!

This means that I have the lo turkey and mushroom cream cheese pasta for dinner tonight, which is all ready to microwave. Glad it's a quick dinner, as I treated myself to a new cross stitch kit yesterday, so whatever time I'm not working today, I want to be sewing!

I get my babies back tomorrow, and while I've enjoyed having some time to myself, I've mussed them like crazy and can't wait to have them in my arms. 8 sleeps is too long... Not sure if I'm giving them dinner or not tom as don't know exactly when they're back, so will plan ideas for both scenarios.

Have a good day everyone! I'm off to do a bit of sewing...

DH had to take an unexpected trip to see a family member in hospital that cost him £60 all in all!
I'll stick to my meal plan and I have some flour tortillas and salad leftover from dinner for mine and DS lunch today. With some tuna mayo.

  • Good morning all!

We're almost half-way through the month. I can't believe it is going so fast! I am a bit over half-way through my budget but I also have half of my sainsbury's vouchers left still so will use those for a big shop on Monday. We have visitors the last two weeks of April and first week of May so that will mean more shopping!

I agree with some other posters who say that April has been an "easier" month for them. I've been using a few things from the freezer and my stockpile and we've had quite a few veggie meals, which has also helped.

With all that, I deserve going to the hairdresser's next week, right? :rotfl:

I spent £49.07 spread over Mr Ts, Ald! & Mr A.

Spent £19.04 in Ald! but only £4 of that came from GC money, the rest came from my household budget as things for kitchen; £10.86 in Mr As spent on specials - leg of lamb & some cod; the bulk of it £33.90 was spent in Mr Ts for the rest of the shopping.

So quite a bit of the money spent was actually "money saving" for the future months but came out of this month's money. Total spent for the month so far is £124.61/£200 and my month runs out on 19th so more than enough left and should even have a bit leftover towards food whilst on holiday!
