Now I need to go pack everything.
Zippy - have you looked in the poundshops and Al*i/Li*l as they often have these light bulbs and LOTS cheaper
Spent £21.46 in Al*i today - pack-ups, fruit, veg, 2xmilk at 79p each, pasta, sugar and eggs. Quite pleased as should do the week
Hope you all have a marvellous Monday

I don't get shopping delivered but do a price check for the SMs if I am getting a big shop/stuff I don't often buy. I just put it all into mysupermarket once and get the comparative prices on there for the different shops
thanks for that!
Ok i was taking with OH yesterday, can I ask if anyone doesnt use supermarkets at all?
I live in a village, 5 mins walk away from my house we have a greengrocers (never used) butchers (used once!) coop and sainsburys which i barely walk in either.
I was thinking is it cheaper to go to the butchers/ green grocers daily rather than a weekly shop, and just buy other things in bulk and not weekly?
Advice would be welcomed.
Im 24 so only getting used to the spending and trying to save way of life. I imagine this was something done in the past but not sure if its worth while. We also need to eat more veg we only have it on a sunday!

Morning all!
Kayester - sorry, I can't help with that question. I do have friends that drive to a butcher every couple of months and stock up on chicken breasts, mince etc, and swear by it, saying it's nicer and better value than sms...
I'm planning an nsd today, but g pig does need food. Think I'll wait until it's completely run out, although that makes me feel a bit funny! Toasted hot cross bun for breakfast (well, it is the Easter holidays!), crackers and cheese for lunch (no bread in the house), and not sure what for dinner. Prob one of the jars that needs using up.
I'm waiting in for a boiler man to come and put a new seal on somewhere this morning, then I'm off to work. Nice chilled day, as no one else will be in, so I'll prob get quite a bit done.
Have a good day everyone!

I'm wondering what this leftover mashed potato is? Any time I make any here, it disappears! :rotfl:
Sometimes I cook extra and then make gnocchi with it. I use potato flour with the mash, but I really like the taste of the potato to come through. Plain flour works just as well.
I looove gnocchi but it's always a bit, um, rubbish when I make it. What proportion of potato to flour do you use Mrs_T_M? :-)0 -
Friday saw me buying some food items (mostly junk!). I fell lucky with Whoopsies in Mr T while killing time before picking DS1 up from work though, and got 5x220g green beans reduced from £1 to 20p - and a I had a 25p off green beans voucher, which meant I paid 75p for the lot :T Used 1 bag for tea on Saturday, and blanched the other 4 bags before dividing into 10 portions and popping into the freezer (in a gap I'd vacated Thursday lunchtime
) Also got a wholemeal loaf reduced from £1.45 to 36p - didn't seem worth putting my bread maker on this week if I could pick a loaf up for that.....
Saturday saw a trip to A1di for fresh veg.
