Hi Everyone. You all sound so organised.you have spurred me on to make a meal plan. 2 weeks breakfasts, lunches and dinners using stuff from freezer and pantry, I make my own bread so will only have to buy fresh fruit and veg + milk. I am hopefully starting back at S/W on Monday so may have to change a few meals. Hope you all have a nice Sunday.Debt free from April 2012:T:T:T:T:j:j:j:j0

Another NSD. DH left at dawn to go fishing and had a very successful trip, now have enough gurnard and snapper in the freezer to last a month or two. One of his fishing buddies bought us 1/2 dozen paua (we don't get them here as beach is sandy) so will be processing them tomorrow.
Another friend has rung to say he is coming to see us tomorrow with some sashimi for us to try. He is not a fisherman, and I am a bit worried. Don't want to offend him, but I only make it from fish the same day it is caught. may have to just harden up and try it.
For some reason monthly budget is a lot easier this month than last. Must be getting used to the discipline!
Dinner tonight is scotch filet, chips and salad. Using up the last of the beef before the new lot arrives sometime this week. We are much better organised this year, normally I have to put a crisis call out to the kids to come with chilly bins and take the excess beef away, but this year we have managed much better, now down to about 4 meals left. Bet the kids aren't too happy though, all that free meat they usually get has been used up.0 -

Still got to make a meal plan for the coming week - will do it later after I get back from Aldi where I plan on getting some onions, peppers, mushrooms, cheese and mince.
Breakfast today was crumpets and cup of tea for all of us, lunch will be jacket potatoes with toppings (cheese for me tuna for DD's) with salad, and tea tonight will be quesidillas as my sister is coming for a meal.
Faete - I had the Aldi gammon piece last week and I found it to be much nicer than any I have bought from other supermarkets.
Have a nice Sunday eeryone!Jane

Went to Dunnes stores yesterday, spent €138.05. I got a few bits for easy meals, as DH heads off again tomorrow (2 weeks overseas), so fresh pasta, I have chicken goujons and oven chips in freezer, few jars of curry and tomato sauces.
I had been bad about getting veg into dinners recently, so I have been focused on that again last week. And a few nights having liver as a starter for my iron levels. S feeling a bit better again.
This week's menu is:
Sat- steak and HM chips
Sun - our attempt at Jamie's spatchcocked chicken
Mon- lasagne HM
Tues- chicken curry and rice
We'd- M&S kids curry (after swimming) and either Welsh rarebit or lambchop and veg for me
Thurs- chicken and mushrooms open lasagne
Fri- dominos (as au pair may need to feed dd before I get home from conference in another city, and it's a Friday treat)
I hadn't realised just how much food inflation had been though, just had been wondering why I seemed to have no money left. Need to get back to frugal thinking, within the bounds of my reality.GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

Another trip to Aldi and Asda to get food for next week while we're away. This has taken me to nearly half of my monthly budget, I will need to be more careful for the last two weeks. I have bought a lot of goodies and some wine and beer for our holidays - but we shouldn't need to spend any money on food all week. Last year we must have spent around £300 eating out in 5 days (this figure makes me grimace as I type). This year, I'm bringing food for all breakfast/lunch/dinners, except for the final dinner, which I've budgeted for eating out from our spending money - so if we overspend during the week, we're not eating out on the final day!
Now I need to go pack everything.SPC # 348 2014-£169.07/2015 - £156.89
