Seller has just told me our survey has been booked for 14th July, Santander tried to get in touch today so guessing they were letting me know.

Has been approx 1 month from the telephone interview. We are dealing direct, no broker.

Sounds like they are getting their act together!

Well no complaints from me regarding how quick the process took with Santander:

    25th June- Application submitted
    26th June- Passed to underwriter
    27th June- Underwriter approved/valuation instructed
3rd July- Valuation recieved (all OK)
    3rd July- Mortgage offered

The broker fee is the best £295 I've ever spent!

    WOWZA

    That was QUICK!!!!

I bought a house yesterday and then went straight through to the broker who said he would of uploaded all my payslips, statements, proof etc today (4/7/14) I hope it's not long and more importantly accepted (fingers crossed).

In my last 3 statements I have paid off around £500 in credit cards each month, will they see this as a bad thing or will they just take the 5% deduction and be ok with it. I'm so nervous with it all :(

    Good luck everyone
  • Good to see some people getting to offer stage fairly quickly. However, still slow with us and been told they have a backlog. Valuation completed more than a week ago and still no offer and no indication of problems. Just sitting waiting and nobody has any real idea how long it will take. :(

Yay ive had my application approved today with santander.

    Heres my timeline

    Application submitted 12th june

    Passed to underwriters 13th june

More info requested on 23rd june

Info submitted 24th june and submitted to underwriters

    Application approved 01st july

    Valuation instructed 1st july

What a relief. Ive been reading all the horror stories and worrying myself silly.

My broker Ian has been great at simply investment.

I would most definitely recommend simply investment if anyone needs a good broker!!!

    Update

    Valuation received 3rd July

    Application offered 3rd July.

Just waiting for the offer in the post now. I will be instructing my solicitors on Monday.

Good luck to all of those who have the agonising wait.

Here's my application process so far I haven't heard anything more since.

    Application received 19th Jun 2014 2:17pm
    Documents/information requested 20th Jun 2014 9:37am
Broker document submission received 20th Jun 2014 9:55am

Anyone know what the next step will be? applied via broker.

    thanks Andy :)
  • If they are happy with everything then next step is authorising mortgage valuation/survey if not then they will go back to broker with queries. I would check with your broker as two weeks have passed.

yeah I've emailed him today I will expect a reply on Monday. I don't know why it wouldn't of went threw straight away 0 debt and putting down over 10%.
  • Even if you are putting down 50% it still might not fly through. They have a queue and you just wait your turn. Ridiculous that it takes so long with some lenders at some times but seems to be normal.
