Thank you Nick for your time scale. Daughter's application was with underwriters from Thursday 3rd July (after quite a few requests for paperwork before that - process started end of May) but nothing heard since or updated on their system - the waiting to hear is very stressful -daughter, son in law, and baby moved in with us to save deposit - then they had to find another £15000 to even get looked at - thanks to us and other relatives and friends this was raised - so now its just the waiting game.

My application was underwritten before the valuation was done so assuming this is the norm the offer should come soon after (I had confirmation from my broker that the offer was on its way on the same day that the valuation report came back).

Of course the fact they did mine quickly doesn't mean they'll do everyone's quickly. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.

So my valuation was due to happen today between 12 and 3.

When should I hear the results of that? A day or so?
  • Valuation was on Friday and I just heard that the mortgage was offered and should be in the post and with us very soon. Yay!! Really never thought we'd actually get here. Kept waiting for something to fail, but it's all gone pretty smoothly.

Just heard that application approved, and valuation on Friday so nearly there - my daughters mortgage broker has been wonderful and worked really hard to get this sorted.

All I can say is that they offered very quickly following valuation in my case (the same day). We went through a broker, I'm not sure what ability you have to check progress if going direct?

The offer arrived in the post about 3-4 working days later (yesterday).

How many days after the valuation did the report come back from the surveyor? I have access to the intermediary site, and can see that it has been instructed, and I know it went ahead yesterday. So just waiting now on the results to come in!

Pretty sure it should be same day. The valuation report came through with our mortgage offer and it's a 2 sided tick box type form which I'm sure they do while at the property so not as if they have to sit and write up a report.
