Abbey/Santander application - Delay

As I have said before, I think a lot of these issues are down to the broker, or how the application has been submitted.
I submitted an application yesterday morning, and immediately uploaded, all of the confirmation I though they may need, yesterday afternoon, it was through processing and in the underwriting queue, which I appreciate is not there yet, but some of the posts on here seem to take weeks to get to this stage, which would imply documentation is not being submitted correctly.
Thats what my broker did, anticipated the document requirements through experience and we were set. Totally hassle free process, living in scotland we has the bonus of not having to have a survey done as it is done by the vendor up here but still very quick indeed.0 -

I agree with this. My broker was being really lazy and slow with uploading docs, he had them a good week before uploading!0 -
My broker was fantastic and took and uploaded all of the necessary docs. What I think held me up, was that it was submitted 2 days after the systems went live for MMR. I'm at 6 weeks and still counting although the survey was done yesterday. There were no requests for additional information other then confirmation that I was aware of the ERC charges - this confirmation was asked for twice. In my case I think it was just a case of bad timing...0

So from full application to underwriters approving in 7 days?0 -
It's 9 weeks for us today. Broker said our application is STILL with underwriting (that was yesterday morning) and he was hoping to hear back later...but of course that didn't happen. Still waiting. Gonna seriously complain.0

How long has it been with the underwriters?0 -
It was with them on 16th May. They requested more clarification on my job (see my first post), underwriter uploaded this on the 16th but late afternoon so i guess it wasn't really seen until the following monday or tues so 19th/20th. Now with the bank hols I doubt we'll hear anything for another week. :mad:0

I was in the same boat, we were first credit checked on 7th of Feb I think broker was then a little lazy uploading documents but when he did end of feb we didnt get accepted until early May. Was a nightmare but got there in the end, people were telling us to leave and go elsewhere and I almost did but they came through a day before I was going to try elsewhere.0 -

Yes i was suprised to say the least, My broker anticapated all docs we would require. Both Bank account details, 3 month statements and proof of savings. All done in super quick time. it was as easy as that, didnt have to fill in a form at all. We used London and Country (we had a 25% deposit) And no monthly outgoings for stuff like childcare or transport hence i believe it was a simple application.0 -
