Abbey/Santander application - Delay

ours was with underwriter last wednesday. we have been asked for February bank statements now! aaaggghhh. i assume this is because it has gone over into a new month.

That's quite absurd, if it was all submitted to them with the paperwork for the last 3 months (at that point) then surely that is enough?? I can see me having to submit February, March & April at this rate!

I spoke to MB this morning-she chased Santander/Abbey who yet again said it was the sheer amount of cases Underwriters have at the moment and they slowly working through backlog. Having spoken to many different people including Estate Agents, all Banks and Building Societies in same situation so any vendor or buyer tempted to either put housecon market or go with another Mortgage provider to try and speed up things would be mad. We all have to sit tight and remember to breathe......

We got a message from MA yesterday morning to say we had Offer. How long dies it take to receive in the post?
We have been guzumped and now need this ASAP to take to the EA to price we gave it together with deposit as we are up against a cash buyer gggrrr

MA says Abbey don't send MO by Email?

A couple of days for me, but they faxed it straight to the solicitor.

Valuation (and an independent survey) booked for 7/3...eek! Our broker had to chase and Santander had cheek to say that they were waiting for us to confirm whether or not we wanted a valuation or full survey. Utter nonsense as we were waiting for them to give us a quote for the full survey. Nobody had been in touch with us from them at all. In the end went for an independent survey.....

Our valuation has just been done, we need to exchange by Tuesday. I feel a few days of chasing coming on!

We were told a week ago today it was approved, still nothing in the post to either us or our solicitors.
Gutted for you with your 'gazumption'.

Has your solicitor done the searches already without the formal mortgage offer?
