Just found this thread after posting quite a lengthy whinge elsewhere.

I currently have an Alliance & Leicester product (0.99 above base rate) and am looking at borrowing additional funds for a house move. I applied on the 5th, had my interview on the 18th and since then nothing! Had all the paperwork which was signed and sent back first class recorded (they received it the next day) and having called today someone is yet to look at it all. Hasn't even been passed to underwriting yet. Reading this thread it would seem that I'll be waiting another week at least before a valuation is booked. The vendors are starting to get nervous and I can see them pulling out if things don't start to move soon. I am waiting for a call back from them to explain what on earth is going on because every time I call them I speak to a different person who hasn't a clue about my application (can't blame them as they deal with hundreds). I really think there needs to be a dedicated point of contact for each applicant because the waiting an uncertainty is not doing my stress levels any good.
