Received a statement from New Day this morning saying I owed 2.74. There is no indication what this refers to, they state the account number quoted will be different to the number on my card! I gather from other posts this refers to a store card, I haven't had a store card for several years and it was paid off in full. I tried ringing but got an answerphone. They state they are regulated by FCA but the number they quote is unrecognised by the FCA website, also the name is unrecognised.0

I got a note from Equifax to say there was a change in my file. It transpired a company. Newday, was providing new information about the very inactive Asda account (which had been taken over by Santander).
I was extremely concerned initially - who was Newday, why were they issuing me with a credit card. Eventually tracked down their customer service number (0800 915 2251) and managed to find out that this was a technicality - as Equifax have my details for six years, NewDay have simply registered their name as taking over the Santander business (ie any potential future enquiry or problem would been to be addressed to them rather than Santander). I must say although I understand this, I am not happy. I am assured my account is closed (Newday has no record of me or my address on the credit card systems). But a letter explaining this may have been helpful. Poor show all round, from both of the institutions.0 -
I have had a debenhams card for about 20 years, always paid I. Full on time. Last month I paid through my mobile banking app, it came out of my account then I noticed two weeks later it was paid back jo to my account. This was followed by a phone call from new day and a three page letter telling me I was now a debtor and had missed a payment, I have called them, not a great experience as they won't put you through to the relevant department and now have to wait two weeks for a dispute to be opened. I am very confused.:o0

I have had a Debenhams card for a number of years and would like to put in a PPI claim, should I contact Newday or Santander ran this card service for the period I am going to claim for?0

I rang their expensive number today in the end as they haven't replied to my email. I spoke to them they said its in relation to an old store card but couldn't or wouldn't tell me which company and that I don't have to pay anything there is actually a zero balance. Well why send me a statement for £2.19 then??
I asked if they can close any records they have open and delete me from their database and they said they will and confirm in writing. So hopefully all sorted although it will have cost me more than £2.19 for the phone call. She couldn't explain really why they have contacted me apparently they've had some details passed on from Santander0 -
I have received a letter from above stating that I am in arrears and they have charged late payment fee. I have no IDE what they are talking about as I pay all my store cards in full and have not received any notification of non payment. I am not or never have been a customer of Santander bank. Should I ring the number on their letter head. Please help0

Now I am worried. I do have a Santandar Mortgage, but have closed my ISA with them, and have nothing else. I notice two payments on my Bank Statement to Newday. I have no store cards, never have. I must go and investigate, just more to deal with when things are totally bad.:mad:0
