Hello,
Do you know how to get in touch with this Newday company? I have a loan (formerly Santander) via DFS Sofas, and I am trying to find out how much is outstanding. Does this number NewDay 020 8181 0000 appy to DFS customers? I rang DFS who (surprise!) couldn't help me.
Thanks!

Just had a phone call from these jokers today. They could not explain why they were phoning me when my number is TPS registered, why they were phoning me when I have had zero dealings with Debenhams in my life and why they had my details when Santander were told and agreed to delete any and all details held on me due to their negligence in handling an account I held briefly with them. I now feel a number of complaints need to be made about the way both Santander and this bunch of cowboys handle their business.0

When these idiots finally phoned on their non 0845 number the person on the end of the phone got it tight from me, no swearing no threats just very angry, I asked to be put on to a manager and was put through to a supervisor who was firmly but politely told I wanted the Organ Grinder not the monkey. I was eventually put through to a manager who then told me the name on the account in question was not even mine (despite the recording left on my answerphone asking for me by name). I then asked how this was possible and related my last escapades with Santander at which point there was much stammering and stuttering along the line. I then informed them that I would be raising a formal complaint with the ICO in relation to the way both New Day and Santander handled customers data (an approach everyone should take), cue more stammering and claims of "mistakes are sometimes made" to which my reply was "but continued harassment makes this man a very unhappy and vindictive person". I was told that it would take up to 24 hours to remove me from the system to which I replied "If I receive another phone call from you or any other New Day related company I will treat it as harassment and will lodge a formal complaint with the Police and the FSO/FCA as well as the complaint I will be making to the ICO". Strangely enough I have received no more phone calls from New Day or any other associated company.0

NEWDAY LTD is a subsidiary of Värde (worth) Partners. Värde are a 'alternative investment' venture capitalist with a cash pile to spend on revenue generating assets. The business appears to be registered in Luxembourg, which is an all-too common accounting trick to legally avoid paying UK VAT, income tax and corporation tax on full profits and dividends.
If you have a NEWDAY account, it is unlikely that the full economic benefit from your interest payments will accrue to the UK. A quick look at their annual accounts (when they file them) will confirm whether profits are being repatriated to the Luxembourg shell company (they don't appear to have a Luxembourg office according to their website).0 -
We've had a Laura Ashley card for 2.5 years and spent thousands on it to furnish our home.
We always paid off the full balance every month as soon as the bill arrived.
Then the account was moved to Newday and they failed to send us a monthly statement.
Next thing we know we get a letter from collections demanding the outstanding balance of £28 plus a £12 late fee.
I was a bit miffed but paid it right away on line and sent them a letter expressing my dissatisfaction and telling them to close our account.
Now we get another letter not even a week after the last bill saying we've not paid and want a further £5.
I checked on line and our balance is zero - but the point is their billing / collections system must be screwed up.
Anyway they've just a valuable customer for good.\

I would have a look at your credit file ASAP.
I've somehow managed to miss one payment of £7 on my Burton card which I've had for 60 months with Santandar.
The Newday crew have came in and logged a missed payment on the credit file which has badly affected my credit score.
I'm not happy and Experian are completely useless to deal with too.
It's now going to take a long time to get the credit score back up.
Our Burton card seems to be Newday and Dorothy Perkins is still Santandar on the credit file.
The Newday Card will be getting closed.0 -

Glad I've never had a store card. I wouldn't dare keep that dp know it would eventually end up at these con artists.0 -
Quite a bother for me too, had to try and report a lost debenhams credit card to new day. Helpfully despite switching the system from santander a month ago, they hadn't sent me a letter with my new account details (numbers, etc.) so I had to wait for half an hour to get through to someone on their woeful phone service.
First time I waited ten minutes, someone answered the phone, couldn't hear me (or pretended not to) and put the phone down. Then I had to try again for another 20 minutes.
The person I eventually got through to did help and send a new card, but they seemed woefully unprepared for switching issues. Still, this is the motivation I need to pay off the debt and never have to deal with them again.0 -
Is there an email address for new day or a phone number that doesn't cost a fortune from mobiles? I have received a letter today forwarded from an address where I haven't lived for 4 years.
It says I owe £2.19 refers to previous statements but I have been told that no other post has gone to that address for me. I have no idea what it is.
I haven't had any store cards for 8 years and they were paid off in full. I don't know if I've still got documentation though as it's so long ago. I only have my bank credit card as I don't do store cards etc.
The statement says nothing about what account it's for an the phone number is 9-5 mon to fri and I'll be at work and obviously can't make calls from my work phone.0
