To tie up the thread , i went for the Sony , from Amazon as i was round a neighbours who had one , it does the job very nicely i think , i have an optical lead to YV box from sound bar and digital coaxial lead from sound bar to DVD player , with the TV speakers set to minimum
    Thanks for all advice

TV speakers should be completely switched off if possible.

Well , i did `mute` but the icon for that stayed on the screen!
not sure how to turn off totally , the perpwork with the SB just says "if sound comes out the TV speakers (which it does creating an echo) then turn volume to minimum"

As long as it works and there is no sound coming from the TV itself. On my Sony TV the speakers can be completely disconnected.
