Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

Morrisions have one for £60, made by Technica and looks pretty nice.
Any sound bar in theory should work though.0 -

Seriously, anything available for this price will not be significantly better than the sound system already incorporated into your TV.0 -

Hi , have a look at the Yamaha YAS-101......should be available for under £200 and one of the best "at the price point".
Bose is totally overpriced, you are paying a large premium for the name , for £1300 you could build up a formidable system using seperates that would wipe the floor with the Bose !!0 -
I have this http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1226223.htm it was less than Argos in Tesco. When i turn on the tv the sound bar turns on so i dont have to look for the remote.0

I'm somewhere in the midddle here. The Technika will be tinny, a bit like Bush in the 80s.0

I bought one recently and am very satisfied with it. I decided I would not buy very cheap ones but also was not prepared to spend hundreds. I have a Panasonic TV which is 4 or so years old so the HDMI slots do not handle sound and a separate optical cable is needed for that. None of the soundbars came with cables so they are extra.
However it was easy to set it up so I can use the normal TV remote for all functions and the remote that came with the bar goes in a draw.
Not only is the volume better but the quality of sound is also improved. A good test is whether you can understand a single word before or after install of something like The Wire! I couldn't watch it without subtitles before and can cope now. Job done!0 -
I disagree, a £60 soundbar won't be a significant improvement over the TV's speakers.
My link to the Bose product was not at all serious, hence the smilie.albionrovers wrote: »The Technika will be tinny0
