And can you go wrong with anything from Winnie the Pooh? "You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” Lovely for a child's room.

My favourite quote ever but I would have the full quote
“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.”Give me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.0 -
A friend of mine is into art and crafting. Like you OP she struggled to decide what to use as wall art in her home too. Photography happens to be another big passion of hers, so she settled on framing some of her favourite photos of family, friends and favourite places visited. On the border she wrote a fitting lovely quote about the person, place or occasion. Totally individual and very effective. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

This reminded me that I love quotes by Abraham Lincoln, he's my favourite President, and he spoke a lot of truth. http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/229.Abraham_Lincoln0 -
My favourite quote is from the film Bambi. My family and colleagues are fed up with me using it. I try to bear it mind on this site and it has stopped me posting (and probably getting banned) many times

"if you can't say anything nice ... don't say anything at all" :T0 -

Quote from Desiderata "With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy"
When I win the lottery I plan to have Desiderata in its entirety tattooed as a back piece
The Winnie the Pooh quotes are making me teary
I don't particularly like little signs but I do like a good quote painted BIG on a wall or in my case on the floor. I have 'lying in the gutter looking like a star' (from a song lyric and as opposed to looking up at the stars.)Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

It's better to have loved and lost, than to have lost.

You can get more of what you want with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word.

Nothing wrong with a quote that particularly means something to you personally, or a song lyric, but the ones that are used again and again, being sold in numourous shops fail IMO to have any meaning anymore because so many homes up and down the country have the same one and it does become abit 'sheepy'
To be fair, i think that's part of the reason the OP posted this thread - so they don't end up with the same old cheese.
Quite an eclectic mix here! What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
