Quotes that you like?

Question is as it says - I am making some signs for my home as finally I have some decorated walls ready for some artwork but I am really struggling on what to put on the signs/plaques.

I want something in our bedroom, something in my sons, the nursery, front room and kitchen.

I love quotes but now I am ready to make some bits, I can not find anything I like!

What quotes do you like and why?

Home is where the heart is (bedroom maybe)

Wherever I lay my hat, that's my home (hallway)

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach (kitchen) not sure about this one!

The kitchen is the heart of the home (bit trite)

In your sons' room (or in the kitchen) "the house elves are on indefinite strike - therefore please clear up after yourselves"
  • :rotfl:I was going to say 'Acceptance is the kernel of human existence' but that is a little depressing for a sign. Maybe you could put it next to where you wash up.

I once saw something for a nursery which said
'Loved you yesterday, love you still. Always have, always will'
    That one's beautiful.

Surely if you're going to have writing hanging from your walls, you want it to have a personal significance? Something that touches YOU, or made you laugh? Generic "quotes" are a little...kitsch, aren't they, especially if they're coming from perfect strangers...the kind of thing you can find written on £5 "wall art" from B&M. It's not going to personalise anything you put it on.

Maybe you could think of something your husband said once that made you laugh, a slip of the tongue or a funny saying he has...Something your child said that was funny or cute, maybe toddler speak?

I don't like cutesy written wall art, as you can probably tell.
