My all time favourite quote albeit a rather long is

“Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion, it is not the desire to mate every second minute of the day, it is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every cranny of your body. No, don't blush, I am telling you some truths. That is just being "in love", which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.”

From captain corelli's mandolin. Nothing I have ever read has spoken to me more.
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.
  • if your mum asks you a question its best to tell the truth because chances are shes asking because she already knows the answer
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5

Be your own kind of beautiful
  • I like all the deep and meaningful ones like the ones Gillyx (post 11) has put, those kind of motivational quotes, but one I've got my eye on at the moment (I'm watching it on eBay) is really a song lyric more than a quote I suppose (if you want to be technical about it!), and that is:

'You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one', I love it, because I'm a huge John Lennon/Beatles fan, and I guess I can be abit of a dreamer! The same seller has some really cool ones, other song lyrics such as Aerosmith, and thee typical motivational quotes.

I'm terrible at remembering quotes, but I see them (usually in people on here's sig) and think 'oh that's cool!'

“Dance as though no one is watching,
Love as though you have never been hurt,
Sing as though no one can hear you,
Live as though heaven is on earth.”
  • Not for a childs room, but my favourites seen in customers houses are:

"An old fisherman lives here, with the best catch of his life"

    and :

"you can always tell a Yorkshireman.....................but not much"

'If you can't change something, change the way you feel about it'.

    Very useful philosophy!

"Don't put quotes on your wall" ;)

Sorry, I dislike the whole quotes on plaques and signs fashion. Charity shop fodder in a year or two.

If something really, really means something to you then by all means put it up in your house but please don't use the over-used tired trite sh!te that every gift shop sells just because it looks quirky.

It doesn't. It looks like you have a tail and say Baa. :o
