Steve - can you not cancel the 1 month rolling contract then apply for a new sim when wanting to start up again to avoid the reconnection fee?0
-
Yes, it's possible you can cancel and get a new SIM, but if it was this easy why would they have a £20 reconnection charge, surely no one would pay it?
I suspect they only allow one SIM per name, address or credit card when you try to activate the SIM. Otherwise you could keep on ordering trial SIMs and getting 3 months at 100 MB/month free forever!
So, it seems to me if you use it a lot (or just once) it's good value. Otherwise, you are effectively 'locked' into a continual contract by the reconnection fee, despite them touting the 'flexibility of short term contracts' in their sales talk!0 -
I've seen on their site the free sims are limited to two per household.0

Hi! Just seen this deal from Samba´s email, and after read the website for a while, I still dont know if I can use the SIM in my Three Dongle for my laptop. Does anyone know this and can confirm, please?
If I understood well, I can order the SIM, use it for 3 months (less than 100mb per month) and then cancel my subscription and I only had to pay £1 of the registration???
That´s sounds cool for my data use in my laptop .

Hi, I was a Samba user and was disappointed when they folded as you were getting data free for watching adverts, so I decided to try Mobidata last week. I received my Sim card after 2 days and have tried it in my unlocked Three dongle and Three MIFI with no problem as Mobidata uses the Three network. I thought this was a good price £4.95 for 1 gig/month.

Thanks, i´m gonna try with Mobidata, although I don´t know if my dongle is un or locked, but it is Three and worked with Samba, so hopefully it´ll work as well.

I already have my sim from MD and works perfectly in a Three dongle
Now I´m enjoying of the deal!0 -
The only downside i can find, you can't check you usage online you have to phone up and ask, they are 48 hours behind real time. So you could be well over your data allowance- the sprat to cache the mackerel.Any posts by myself are my opinion ONLY. They should never be taken as correct or factual without confirmation from a legal professional. All information is given without prejudice or liability.0

Now, please forgive me my ignorance - is the allowance when you subscribe to pay monthly only covering UK usage? So when you go abroad to one of these 41 or so countries you would ALWAYS pay £15 per 100MB used (that's at 15 pence per MB)?
I was pretty certain it is not so only until I subscibed earlier today and read ver carefully their FAQs...0 -

That's correct, although it is my understanding that - if you subscribe to a monthly plan for use in the UK, your first 100Mb of use abroad in each billing period is free. After that you are billed for 15p per MB for anything over that. So, for using 110MB, you'd pay only for 10MB, which would be £1.50.0
