Free tenner for EGG customers. came in an e-mail today.
If you activate the Egg Money Manager for your account & register 1 other balance account (saves you time hopping from site to site) EGG will credit £10 to your account.
You must register the extra account by 1 March 2005. Cynical !!!!!! that I am, I will declare a card that is live but I no longer use & see what happens.
It's a welcome additional bonus given that I am surfing the 0% balance transfer wave.
Bad news is that you have to receive the e-mail to qualify. Watch your mail box !!!0 -

Egg money manager is one to be weary of as three of my accounts have been frozen out dispite initally being set up correctly , costly and frustrating game having to phone your account holders each time. :mad:Rememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.
If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance. And finally, be really nice to your family and friends; you never know
when, You might need them to empty your bedpan.0 -

Not so - all egg customers can do this and get a free tenner (no need to get an e-mail):
Click on "Your Accounts" at the egg site to see the £10 offer.0 -

I tried your suggestions Smartasss, but I don't see it. Perhaps it may be a time limited offer, or you already received the offer via email hence is visible on your account.I know nothing0 -
Got the First Direct wine today, one hour after sending them an e-mail asking when it would be delivered.
Now that's what I call customer-focussed!
:rolleyes:
Still waiting for my tenner from Egg MM, though.Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0 -
So now that the Virgin MP3 offer is closed, where can I find a link to the DECT phone offer? (Apologies - but this thread has lots of "progress report" type posts and it's hard to keep track of which offers are still open).
I'm not particularly interested in cases of wine, accurist watches or a day at a health spa. Is there anything else I can currently go for?

There's a free return flight to New York being offered by an MBNA card, https://www.wakeupandsmellthecoffee.net
Seems like a bit of a weird website name to me. The catch is you have to spend £500 on the card, and it has no introductory rate offer, just the flight. Anyone know how these things usually work and what conditions have to be met to qualify for the flight? Does the £500 have to be spent in one go? Will flight dates be flexible? I've no idea I'm afraid, was hoping someone working there might be able to help.
From the website: Must be opened by 26th March and spend £500 by 14th June 2005. They won't give you full details until you open the account.
Thanks for any help.0 -
If it is like previous offers then the catches to expect are:
* Flights will have to be taken in the off season (eg Winter excluding Christmas)
* Limited choice of dates.
* No choice of airline.
* Flights only from London.
* You must pay taxes and sometimes other fees.
* Offer is only for one person. The cost of adding a second person is high.
* Flight times will be the least popular time of day.
* Journeys must include staying overnight on a Saturday (to stop business trips).
* You must have travel insurance. If you do not have this in place already when they are booking the flight they will expect you to accept their expensive policy.
The worst offers go further and insist you pay grossly inflated prices to book hotels through them for the duration of the trip.
People often get upset because they expect too much from these flight offers, but if you are aware of all the above then it can still be very good value (except when they want you to book the hotel too in which case I wouldn't bother).
If you want to add a second person I suggest you just do it yourself once you know the flight details. I did this on a European offer and saved 1/3rd off their "special promotional price".0 -

I signed up for this today on both mine and wife's Egg cards - said the offer is available until end of March, for both new and existing money manager users who register a new external account. No email was necessary, I just spotted it when I logged into my Egg Card account.0
