If you have forgotten all about mining, why do you need to upgrade, it's far more sensible to save up and buy a new one than buying machines that aren't much better than what you've got, complete with old or no os, no warranty etc, or buying ssd's!!

At the moment, I can't afford to spend a few hundred quid on a new machine.0 -

Hard drive isn't too much of a problem. If you bought this computer you'd have 3x80GB hard drives, is that right?
You would be able to clone the 'new' computer's drive onto a newer, vastly bigger one easily, and again they're dead cheap. You can then copy the videos etc onto it, or even just move that 2nd 80GB drive into the 'new' computer.
If you don't want to clone, I *THINK* you can legally download a Windows Vista ISO, making sure it's the version that the product key printed on the computer states.0 -
To be quite honest ive seen better spec PC's sat in the recycling center shed's what the OP is considering on buying from ebay and some only require a new PSU.
hell ive even taken some away from LA recycling centers to build a get me by machine or rob for parts.
the one I have here as a back/up kids one I would say was dated and a cheap system to someone if I were to sell it (but im not just saying as example)
core 2 duo extreme processor Unlocked not overclocked.
asus p5q pro turbo mobo
500Gb western digital HD with win 7 ultimate 64bit installed.
hyper type M 550 watt psu.
wifi card.
4gb hyperx memory kingston memory 4gb crucial balistix memory (looks real good with their red LED dancing lights in the case)
22x DVD CD rewriter.
foxconn cpu heatsink and fan.
jeantech unicorn gaming full atx case can add loads of led fans in it.
gainward GTX550 goldensample OC as standard HDMI DVI graphics card. I wouldn't even think of trying to ask more than £80 for that tower.
im boggling how someone would ask £50-100 for 7-8 year old system with no OPSYS and a 80GB HD.0 -
atrixblue - the one I linked to has Vista installed, and if it doesn't have a proper COA attached I'd be returning it. Does that make it worth £50? I restricted myself to local to Swansea too, but do feel free to show OP a better value system...0
