I haven't been to work all week. I've been struck down with a virus and practically confined to bed.
Staff had to do the children's party for me.
I am still laid up, and DGD had tonsilitus but she is now better. Wish I was.
Sorry to hear your poorly, get well soon. Sending you a big hug.2020 Stash makes/destash 61/1500 -

managed to cut up the old curtain and turn it into a platform valance yesterday. it looks really good i did hand sew the sequin trim in the end which was a pain as it kept fraying but i got there in the end despite my 3 yr old managing to un thread my machine whilst i was at the ironing board . it fits the bed perfectly. next project is cushion covers for the kids playroom and a jersey top which im a bit scared of to be honest
think i need to grit my teeth and just give it a go. any tips for cutting and stitching jersey fabric ?
Really well done.2020 Stash makes/destash 61/1500 -
I plan to make my own summer wardrobe this year and I am wondering if anyone has made anything with the free patterns from Love Sewing mag. I have loads but yet to try one out. I read somewhere that there were fitting issues when sewn up.. I have Tilly and the buttons sewing book and have used several patterns from there. Not keen on the skirt that I made as it feels to fussy when its worn but the blouse is lovely though the collar is a bit faddy to make. Still pleased with the result though.2020 Stash makes/destash 61/1500

If using a pattern remember that you will not be the dress size you are in a shop. For example I am a size 12 in the shops but often a size 16 in a pattern.
Go for the nearest measurements of your biggest part, and then adapt the pattern down between the sizes if necessary. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Sorry to see that you have been ill, I hope you are on the mend now xxx
I have cut out a pattern today for a tunic dress. It will have to be something to shrink into as even the biggest size won't fit me and I have no idea how to scale up, but it will be good practice0 -
