How do I find me again?

First of all please accept this hug ...........:)
As I read your post and all the lovely answers, I thought...you must be feeling so alone, by this I mean, you could be in a crowded room, but inside your alone, with how your feeling if that makes sense?
you remind me so much of me, with the same background, and the nervous anxiety, that always lurks just around the corner to tap us on the shoulder and remind us,its always there.......
but just remember these feelings don't last forever.
Its just an idea but maybe start some light training on the wii fit? this could really help you control your breathing while training, and your DD could join in and it will be great fun for you both:)( if you dont have a wii then purchase a cheap work out dvd on ebay)
To me it sounds like your air hungry whilst active, taking in far too much oxygen and not exhaling enough which does make you dizzy and light headed, also I think you may be running before you can walk whilst training, when I first started the gym you would think I had smoked 100 cigs before working out (I dont smoke/drink/or even take a paracetamol) I just couldnt get to grips with the breathing thing but lots of videos on youtube taught me how to breath properly, then i decided sod the running I will just row or go on the cross trainer, same calories burnt less effort :T
As for making friends this is hard as you are very limited but you could try Netmums as a start, and see what local events are on in your area of a weekend and take it from there?
you will be ok and feeling more like the old you as soon as you realise anxiety and panic is all habitual thinking change your way of thinking and it does get easier honestly, trust me these are the things that i have had to do I wish you all the luck in the world .......xxDon't look down on somebody unless you are helping them up.

Thank you so much for your lovely post
I often feel alone, particularly with my health anxiety, after all when I'm "dying" it's only me who is going through it. Luckily my anxiety while driving has slowed down a little and my lovely counsellor is supporting me through these two things.
I will take your advice about exercise, and you're absolutely right I always run before I can walk! I assume that because I'm only 29 and don't drink smoke and aren't overweight that I'd be physically fit and can handle the odd 5mile jog, but truth is I struggle with 1 minute jogs ATM!
It is so nice to know I'm not alone, though I wouldn't wish this on anyone!
Thank you for the hug

Hopefully you're realising that you're not alone in this, its just not spoken about that often.
I agree that it can be difficult when beginning to exercise, I, like you assumed that I would be fit... until I went to the gym and realised that I really wasn't at all! But the more you exercise the easier it becomes.
As another idea, have you ever thought of volunteering in order to make friends, there are loads of different options out there from working with kids to the elderly, its not all working in charity shops, and you can offer as much or as little time as you can cope with.
All the best
smile

I'm so glad your getting good support from your counsellor it really does help, I'm 35 but feel 85 (lol) and like to think I'm fit and well, although if my heart beats fast I think I'm about to drop dead with a heart attack regardless of the fact I've just ran up and down the stairs.... I still just might I'm laughing at myself typing this, but its true, anxiety is an absolute pain in the butt! but with little baby steps we can do it :0) I believe that when I have nothing to worry about, my anxiety is worse, because I have time to think and dwell :0( so I must keep active :0) it really does help :0) we have good days and bad days but providing we take it all in our little baby steps stride we will be fine :0) your not alone..... I know its hard but it won't always be that way :0) xxDon't look down on somebody unless you are helping them up.
