Is this a legitimate way of getting cut price talk talk tv

It isn't, no subscription is required for these boxes to work as standard recordable youview boxes.

Indeed, and it's probably wiser (and ultimately cheaper) to buy a Freeview PVR than a "cheap" YouView box with uncertain recording capabilities.
The title of the thread refers to getting "cut price" Talk Talk TV , not Freeview which has no subscription cost at all.

As you said, standalone boxes are never disabled.

If the OP just wanted to buy a box off ebay to record Freeview channels then no free purchase of a first TalkTalk box would be required. But the OP wants a TT box only to sell it on ebay and then buy a second box on ebay to subsidise the cost of the first free box. Bit complicated really.

I'm certain Talk Talk will have recorded exactly which type of box they've sent to the OP and won't accept any return of one they didn't provide. It's also against the T&Cs to sell the box while still in contract.

I can't see this proposal saving much money at all...

There is nothing uncertain, they don't require a subscription to record.

Youview boxes are excellent as freeview PVRs and have better on demand capabilities than most with or without a subscription, could see no reason they would be second best to a bog standard freeview PVR.

The level of misinformation on here is ridiculous.

I have no idea what he wants to do, couldn't begin to follow it, ( or care ) I was just correcting the wrong info incase others wish to purchase a good value ex talk talk, BT, youview box on eBay.

Yes my response was very clear and concise and was as I stated simply to correct your inaccuracies, no other reason.

No idea why you drag it out rather than just accept the amendment, really weird.
