Did anybody see Horizon last night with the enlightening methods we use to make decisions? Will the residents of Scotland vote with system 1 or system 2 and what about taking the gamble?
Maybe we wont have to?
Maybe if enough companies cross the border like Standard life says they will(if there is no currency/tax union and we can be Certain there will be no tax union), no switching will be necessary?
Today they are saying (the news and I get scottish news) that an independent Scotland wont have access to the BBC (unless I assume they pay for it)?0 -

RBS already has a significant presence in Birmingham, and we'll accept Standard Life's HQ too if they need a new home;)

i was the only Englishman and UK resident at dinner last night. 1 Frenchman, 1 Madridista, 1 Catalan, 2 Basques, and myself. all were very well informed of developments in & around Scotland. and all were very clear that Spain is not going to support Kosovo or Scotland joining the EU, regardless of whatever Rajoy has to say. the position is Spain re. Kosovo and Scotland is very similar to the 3 main UK parties reaction to a currency union with an independent Scotland...the opposition are equally adamant.0

I don't have the sourced quotes to hand but thought they'd been referenced earlier in this thread: Spain's positions on Kosovo and Scotland are fundamentally different - they're saying they don't/won't recognise Kosovo as an independent state but that they would recognise Scotland as such if that's what the agreed democratic process delivers....0 -

i know Rajoy was quoted as saying that Scotland is different to Kosovo. and also, apparently, he has said that Scotland joining the EU would not pave the way for Catalonia or The Basque Country to join the EU if they were to become independent countries. but really, don't hold your breath for Spanish support for Kosovo or Scotland.0 -
I fear that we are all overlooking one of the important social consequences of separation, namely the likely resistance to Scotland's application to the Eurovision Song Contest, especially if they insist on entering some beardy bloke with a bagpipe or the Proclaimers0
