All the bits where the Bullingdon Club get told to butt out.

Indeed John. The Scottish Government has operated within a budget and created a surplus since 2007. It's a bit rich that the very same Bullingdon Club types who have presided over massive UK borrowing and banks falling down the plug hole on their watch, are quick to say that others couldn't possibly make a better job of it. Thankfully it's not up to them.
  • I hope they get the independence they want.

I would assume that all banks that currently operate in the UK would need a new national HQ in Edinburgh. As far as I was aware, some banks that trade in Scotland normally have different entities anyway as I often see for example Halifax (Scotland) Ltd or something along those lines.

My only demand is that when the independent country collapse or get sick of the SNP/ or enter financial difficulties in the next few decades, we stay well back and refuse any support.

Asking to keep the pound is like asking for a divorce while at the same time insisting that the joint bank account stays in place.

In this case the bank account has a massive overdraft and one partner is asking the other to pay their share of it, but wants to keep everything they bought with the money. ;)

I am unable to sink to the lows you suggest.

The issues around defence and pensions are a bit obvious. What does Salmond suggest he does to resolve them?

Like with all the other issues, Salmond cannot guarantee his propositions. An independent Scotland would most likely be able to negotiate a one-off settlement regarding pensions and then Scotland will be left on its own. Which then raises the question how the Scottish economy will be able to provide for its large ageing population.

As to Defence: I don't keep any eye on all matters scottish independence, but if there was a plan on how Scotland could provide its own defence, I am sure I would have heard of it.

are you therefore saying that scotland would guarantee an equal share of all the UK debts?

People keep forgetting it wouldn't necessarily be the SNP in charge. I tend to think after 7 more months of Salmond rants, any rUK government wouldn't pee on him if he was on fire!

And would some Power the small gift give us
To see ourselves as others see us!
It would from many a blunder free us,
    And foolish notion:
What airs in dress and gait would leave us,
    And even devotion!

Robert Burns must have had September in mind when he wrote this!
Even no voters are getting fed up with the negative attitude from London, the E.U and our fellow U.K citizens.
I have a deep burning indifference

We don't care, if you want to leave, then leave! We aren't the ones making all the demands.

    .

That begs the question then why that Scottish Government didn't do the honourable thing then and bailed out its banks when they were on the brink of collapse.

Good news is, they will be responsible to fund their own way out of the next disaster as and if Scotland votes for independence. Mind you, there is always the IMF........
