    Thanks for coming back with an update.

    I empathize with your situation - my grandson 'acquired' 6 points on his licence for being foolish, and had to start again.

    As you say - a hard lesson learned.

    If he gets 6 points on his licence he will still be able to ride to work but his insurance may rise considerably

    Back in the 'day' when I actually passed a moped test, I managed an indicated 65 mph on a moped that was still restricted to 30 (on the flat) by virtue of a long downhill section of a daul carriage way and the slipstream pull of a lorry overtaking me.

    I have to add that later I may ;) have decoked it and serviced it with a bit too much engineering rigour, because eventually It would hit 45 mph on the flat. Happy days ;)
