It might be a 125 scooter but so many people refer to them as mopeds.

It may well be, but in the absence of any further information from the OP, let's go with hair dryer.

Had a Garelli Tiger in the 70s which would do over 50 and was a moped (even had pedals).

  • I had an Aprilia RS50 for a giggle once. That'd do 52. Cracking thing, although not really a moped, I suppose.

Managed an indicated 56mph on the flat with the wind behind me and 62mph downhill on mine. It was bog standard too:D:D

Any points he gets on his provisional licence that havnt expired will be carried over to his full licence when he passes his test, if he then gets any more points to take his tally to 6 or more then his licence will be revoked. Depending on how thorough the police are he may get fined for not having an mot too.
  • I think the op has possibly stated a moped meaning a scooter.

Either way her son in 18 years old and can ride any bike up to a 125 on a cbt, therefore the 53mph isn't a problem.

i cannot see an 18yr old wanting to pottle about on a 50cc moped if they can ride a 125 but either way, 50cc or 125cc, 53mph isn't a problem.
If it isn't broken, don't try to fix it.

Unless he gets 6 points and then any points will see it revoked.

No it doesn't, you can have 6 or even more points on your provisional, pass your test and still be ok but any more points while a full licence holder will see it revoked.
