When I look in the mirror, I see a stranger. But my OH sees me, as does everyone else - he's become accustomed to the gradual changes. I never have, and I'm just realising it's only me who can do something about chasing away the stranger. That's why I'm doing SW, albeit at a slow pace.

Good luck to everyone, however you deal with your issues.

Thanks for the info re Freddos. I thought the ordinary ones were 3 and the caramel ones 5, anyway will change my syns accordingly.

Re Shoe Size: Not lost enough to go down a size but my shoes do fit more comfortably. I had a pair that were extremely tight and uncomfortable but now I wear them quite often without any issues.

I'm sorry but no, I'm not asking for sw consultants to counsel members or hold therapy sessions. As to be quite honest the fact that so many of them are no longer at target makes me question the whole 'change for life' approach that sw is meant to be.
Sorry consultant you were a sw consultant yet your back on the plan to lose weight so surely there was some issue that led to you putting weight back on.
I personally am fed up being the show pony at my group and have enjoyed not staying for image as I can't handle the soooo Mildredd how amazing do you feel now you've lost ALL that weight?
Erm still the same person I was when I wobbled in? My personality hasn't changed. I now have more body hang ups and I'm striving for a perfect body that I probably won't ever achieve but other than that yeah it's alright I'm just less fat than I was.
I personally think sw needs to say losing weight won't solve all your problems and tbh if you have slight body hang ups accept your probably going to have more. Oh and your head won't realise your actually a smaller size for quite some time and you'll always consider yourself the fat one.

Sw doesn't accept will happen apart from find the new you?!
Sorry but changing the chassis on a car doesn't change the engine!!

And I haven't changed as a person I'm still the same person the new me? That implies there was something wrong with me as a person nope just my weight I joined to change my weight not get a new personality.

Great post Hun, raises lots of question and answers though, I don't think SW claims to be a change for life,, it merely says you can lose weight and keep it off if you want. I DO want as its helping with the pain of Artyitus, Don't want to look younger, get a Bikini Body, find a new partner etc, but hate being in pain, so that's my reason for doing it.

I have hated my belly since I was 21 and had to have an emergency op so my daughter could be born, I asked the Surgeon
if she used a knife and fork at the time . really horrible scaring. but hey ho I am more than just a belly. but will hate it even if I got right down to a slinky 8 stone.

Does anyone ever know what triggers a person to put weight back on when as you say Consultant is back on plan so must have issues, in my case it was grief, lost my Dad, my Son, my best friend, my Mom and a Brother and just stuffed my face with whatever I wanted, not least seeking oblivion from alcohol.

Sorry to have written a book here but would like to just share something I read that has really helped me.

Give me the strength to accept what I cannot change,
the strength to change what I can
and the wisdom to know the difference

See my consultant at wi says it all the time don't cheat ladies it's a plan for life this all life changes? But then she isn't at target and regularly tells us how she's been out for meals and drinks etc? So I find the sw thing a bit hit and miss?
My consultant once told someone who was going through a horrible time with family members to stick to the plan as its a plan for life. When in my eyes I comfort eat when I need to deal with stuff? Or stress?

I don't know I think I entered sw thinking it would solve my being fat I hadn't predicted the issues I've got from being smaller(saggy skin etc) my head issues where there already. But there is never any mention of excess skin etc in the magazines?

God knows really I have no clue but there are issues that maybe should be skimmed at image instead of constantly discussing how to make pea curry?

Meg that's very helpful actually possibly more than you realise
I am more then a belly.
I'm sorry actually I've come across as really horrible but I was going on what my consultant says about sw not being just used to get weight off that it should be a plan to keep the weight off (but then hasn't herself which pecks my head - how can someone preach stuff they don't do themselves?!) I don't know think I'm just in a very deep thinking place where I'm questioning a lot of stuff that I previously would have just accepted?

OH bless Hun you haven't come across as horrible at all, understand what you are saying about consultant not doing what she preaches and you are right to question, you don't seem to be happy in this group, maybe time to save a fiver and go it alone. you know the plan inside and out now maybe need to explore other avenues.

So I am more than a belly, yes of course we are,
and in your case a lovely caring person, someone, as a stranger, I would like for a friend. if you wanted a nearly 70 year old for a friend that is.

I bet you have what I call beautiful eyes. someone that looks at you when they talk, is quick to give a hug, and just radiates friendship.

meg~Full of admiration that you are still standing for less doing SW.
As I have said we never know what other peoples lives are like.

Our consultant says it a change/plan for life.

For me I gained weight as I was sad and unhappy.I had lost 3 st 3 and am now down to about 2 st 9/10 so have gained about half a stone.
I just have the energy to cook properly & I really don't 'do' body magic.
I don't think I will ever be happy with my body.
I hate my legs and my knees and my stomach.
    (& of course my gait)
