yes I watch live broadcast only, and im not having a licence. so.
the extra you pay will cover mine, if your not happy with that then either stop paying yourself, call me names on here and still pay, or go away keeping your opinions to yourself and still pay.0 -

I bet most of you have a telly in everyroom in the house, and lets not forget your 50" paid by the dole in the lounge. I am sick to death that the "Poor" think they can get everything on the Free.
For everyones information, Its a LICENCE TO RECIEVE, so be it Channel Cabbage, or you watching TV via the Internet, YOU are Still watching and RECEIVING.
I have 2 homes, but they both only have 1 room in each home, and 1 tv in each home.

well if they didn't have a tv they would pro-create more, which would then be a bigger burden on the system. a free tv licence doesn't seem to bad now does it. every cloud.;)0 -

Why on earth should anyone be forced by the goverment to pay to watch broadcasted video.
I do not like the BBC and already pay to watch programmes I do like, although I will be only watching DVDs soon.
Many people could save a lot of money without this vile tax.
Update: As I would like to not carry this on and on with pointless replys, I have added a poll. A vote will be a fair solution.
I respect everyones opinion and thank everyone who will take part.
Fair enough, but I actually quite like the Beeb, and hate adverts, so I don't mind paying the licence fee, in principle. Though I do wonder where the money's going. They pay their 'top talent' obscene amounts of money.0 -

and what about those of us, who do watch broadcasted tv, but hardly ever watch the ones that the licence fee pays i.e the bbc, should we be forced by threat of jail to subsidise your tv ? if they brought in a law that everyone on here should pay me £140 to go fishing is that fair ? of course its not !
the best thing is we only want a level playing field, i am law abiding, and i will remain that way, however when i am paying a tax for something thats quality is poor ( my opinion) then i can try and change that, if you do think the bbc is great quality then great, surely you wouldnt mind getting your £140 back and paying for it via subscription ?
i cant see how you can lose, you get the bbc and pay £140 for it, i dont get the bbc and i dont pay the £140 !
why is that such a big deal ?
surely thats the fairest solution ?0 -

then if they made the bbc a subscription service they would have to compete evenly, another winner for making it a subscription service, if you decide you no longer want it you cancel your subscription, that would also force the bbc to keep its quality up !0 -

Actually, I do watch some live TV - when I'm visiting someone and they have their TV on. But that's only a handful of times a year and doesn't require me to have a licence - I'm covered on theirs.Cheryl0 -
The poll isn't fair as it's not as clear cut as that.
I like the BBC and think they produce some great programmes but there are many parts of the BBC, which could go.
The amount of radio stations could be cut down by a third at least. Making BBC 3 online only is a mistake. They should have never invented BBC 4 and just had documentaries on BBC 3 in the day, then made it more modern in the evenings.
Their ever changing iPlayer content is awful. Stop paying the big guns, say you can't afford the big names (to show how greedy they are) and buy some hard drive space to enable triple the amount of iPlayer content.
I don't pay a licence fee so it doesn't affect me either way but you can't deny that the BBC has produced some excellent programmes over the years, particularly nature - even if it doesn't interest you.0 -

the bbc is still living off only fools, dads army & top gear, and seeing as top gear is now 11 years old iirc, then this shows just how bad it is at the bbc0 -
the bbc is a out dated institution that hasn't moved with the times.
and neither would I if I had a bunch of suckers paying me to stay put.0
