Travel agent not issuing tickets

I already asked the airline and they said the TAs can issue the ticket immediately and they don't have to wait for the airline to issue one.
I was thinking of going towards complaining to the airline and trading standards first rather than Section 75? Will that be the right approach?0 -
Before doing anything else perhaps also check the TA's terms and conditions that you may have agreed to regarding the ticketing of itineraries, there may be something about the timescale for ticketing.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I can only find the blurb saying in certain circumstances they might not be able to issue tickets for confirmed reservation due restrictions outside their control and promising that if that happens they will inform me and issue refund or make alternate arrangements.
I do have emails from them saying to me that I will receive my ticket by certain date and time. But that has already expired.0 -
I was not provided any booking reference numbers and when I called the airline they searched with my name on their system.
What can I do?
Follow the advice given by RichardwIf you have paid in full, ask the TA to liaise with the airline to ticket your
itinerary and issue you with the airlines six digit booking reference.
If they don't, ask for a refund or claim under s75 from your credit card

NOW
At the very least the TA should have given you a booking ref which-whilst most probably not a "proper" PNR used by airlines- would show you had airline seats.

You're not alone0 -

I work for Virgin
Lets say if we book flights with Emirates for a Dubai holiday! We dont issue the tickets straight away because we have an agreement with that airline to issue the flight seats maybe 4 weeks before.
If you have paid your balance in full to the travel agent they should issue them if you request them to. You must be aware that the you will then be stuck with these flight seats and no changes can be made if they issue the tickets
If you name the agent we may be able to see if the agent is ligit

My company’s ABTA numbers are P6046. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0 -

Will your organisation at least provide the airline reservation number to the customer or that has to wait as well until 4 weeks before the departure?
I called up the airline but they are unable to find me on their system with my name but the travel agent is adamant that I have confirmed booking. Yet at the same time has not provided me any airline reference number.
I have bought tickets from them before at least twice I think, and the tickets were issued with no problems on the same day.
The other issue is that flights I am supposedly booked on are now showing as fully booked on airline website. Is it possible that the agent is not issuing the tickets so that they can see if they can get more money for those seats from somebody else?0 -
I fear they haven't made any reservation at all. Go back and insist on a booking reference number, you should have received an ATOL Certificate since the tickets were not issued on the same day. If you didn't and the agent is not co operative, report the matter to the CAA who control the ATOL system.0

This is why not to book tickets through agents, they like to keep your money for as long as possible.0

If the TA cannot provide a vendor locator, you don't have a booking with the airline, whether the tickets have been issued or not.0 -
