  • My experience with aqua.

    Dec 2012 250 limit
    Apr 2013 600 limit
    Aug 2013 1100 limit
    Dec 2013 1900 limit

Increase letters give you the following options:-

    1. Wait 40 days and limit will be applied automatically.
    2. Ring call center and have limit applied straight away.
    3. Ring to refuse limit increase and or reduce credit limit.

I usually just wait for the limit to be applied automatically but with my last increase I requested it be applied automatically only because I had a transaction refused due to a security check so I was already on the phone to them so asked to have limit applied straight away.

For me, Aqua have been fantastic and plan to keep this card. They are the only CC company to give me a 2nd chance.

Ironically, I had very similar increases to you.

    Dec 2012 250 limit
    Apr 2013 700 limit
    Aug 2013 1200 limit
    Nov 2013 1900 limit

I'm somewhat expecting a letter this month or next with another increase, but I think I won't let my credit limit go over £2k on this card.

    35% interest on 2K... eek!

Aqua are a great company though. The only downside is they don't have 24/7 phone lines, so if your card is blocked, especially abroad, you're stuck for a while.
  • aqua card have been doing the same with me. apparently if you pay your balance off in full each month they just automatically offer the credit increase. it is around 30-40 days from the date of the letter they send when the increase will happen
  • Hi,

Do you have to pay your balance in full to obtain a limit increase.??
I have had my aqua card for 4 months now, limit of £250. I pay on time each month and although cleared in full once, always pay way over the minimum due amount up to approximately 50%.

Is it best to just keep using the card regularly and wait to see if they increase my limit, or call them to ask for an increase?

    Any advise would be appreciated.

Have you always settle your balance in full each month?

Most months I paid in full, but a few I had a balance.

Since my previous post, by credit limit went from £1900 to £2900. I phoned them and lowered it to £2000 and opted out of any increases.

Aqua are great with their increases. :)

Many thanks for the info. :) Do you think after 4 months its ok to call them and ask for a increase or just wait and see??

I'd wait for a while. They send the 'We're increasing your credit limit' letter a few days after your statement, so wait a week or two after your statement has been issued before asking, as it may be in the post.

If not, send them a secure message via their internet banking page. :)
