Well, I guess there is less chance of you falling, unless you are really not careful. Watch out for skidding though! I fall all the time (when it is slippy) and I am quite delicate too :o I bruise like a peach.

Can't wait until summer. I would love summer all year round. I don't mind a bit of rain, it is necessary for things to grow but leave the cold for the freezer.

    Hello

I'm sorry for not being on here for ages. Things got a bit busy at work and then I realised I was addicted to coming here. I had to take a bit of a break. I only popped on today as over the past few days I have been looking at the forums but not logging in and today I noticed an update on a thread that really moved me. I only came on to give my sympathies to the lady. Then I noticed your comments here.

    Quick 3 month update:

I managed to get a new mortgage deal with my current lender. The mortgage broker who originally got me the mortgage called me up out of the blue and said that because I had been making payments to reduce the capital, my LTV had significantly improved and they were able to offer me 2.54% for two years (I was on their 3.99% SVR). I am now planning to pay £300 per month on top of my interest payment for two years and then have another chat with him to see if he can get me another deal. I am totally delighted about this. There seemed to be no light at the end of the mortgage tunnel but this will dent it by just over £7k and I will still have money for treats.

Talking of treats, LMG and I are planning to go back to Florida next year. I have seen things in life recently that have reinforced to me just how short it is. I am still saving like a mad thing for a deposit for a new house but I am making myself ill trying to achieve things faster than possible. We are not having a holiday this year but we both need something to look forward to and having checked the prices for roughly the same dates this year, it is totally doable.

I switched my bank account to Clydesdale (there is one two blocks away from my work and I am in there all the time) and got a £150 switching bonus. Into the house/holiday fund with that.

I have started doing an accounts course (AAT) as I just can't stay at this level any longer. I am bored at work (even when busy, the boredom is there. The day doesn't go any faster) so I'm not just sitting moaning about it anymore, I am actually making a huge effort to better myself. Again.

    That's all the big stuff.

The little stuff is just the usual like: I am still paying off the cc's every month, trying my hardest to stick to the grocery budget, CSA money comes in in bits, still check my bank accounts and update my spreadsheet every day.

I'm really struggling with fatigue at the moment. Today is not a very good day. I just want to sleep right now! Oh well, 2 hours 40 minutes until the end of the week :)

Oooh, ramble! Right, I'm off to do some work before the bossman comes back.

    gap xx

  • It seems like so many are fatigued right now. Fingers crossed the season change will lift all of us.

  • Hello, remember me?!

As always you are full of hope and motivation - having a credit good enough to get a new mortgage deal, plan a trip to Florida and have cash for treats. You make me believe it is possible for me too and I just need to be patient. Thank you.

What job/career would you like? I know AAT is accounting but do you know what role you would like? There are so many? I'm still trying to think of a career to train for. My mind is still blank.

    Hi

Busy week this week. I am so glad it is Friday although it has been a particularly tough day today. Up early tomorrow for something for LMG so I need to get to bed early tonight. I am looking forward to having a lie in on Sunday. It is very much needed this week.

I have been looking at ACCA and CIMA for after I finish the AAT. I really don't know which route I want to take just yet. I just want to get the basics in so that I have options. First exam is Thursday next week. *bites nails* I have a further 4 exams over the year before I will have completed the very first certificate. I am starting at the very beginning. The downside (apart from it being hard work) is that I am dipping into my big emergency fund to fund the study. I suppose the upside is that I have that money and don't have to get into debt to do this.
    ...speculate to accumulate...blah...blah...

5pm, you are within my sights! :)
