    Morning! Or, afternoon now actually...

mummy my OnePoll total is up from the £5-7 odds that I had when you got your payout. I know I only get a payout 2-3 times a year but I start to look forward to it when it gets nearer. I usually put it towards the house deposit fund or pay it off the mortgage but this time round I think it will go towards the survival fund, i.e. everyday life! Enjoy your weekend at c.parks :)

I cancelled the friend for lunch today. I'm trying to spend as little as possible at the moment. I won't be able to put her off next week so I will just have to work it into the budget.

I am only in work tomorrow afternoon as I have training for the voluntary work in the morning. Nice wee half day, just a pity it's AM and not PM. Still, it means I will be very busy tomorrow at work.

Quiet weekend ahead which is nice. Think it is my sis's turn to pay for the coffees so hopefully it will be a cheap weekend too. I have grocery money ready if we can be bothered going to the supermarket
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000

We did half a grocery shop at the weekend. We have food for 3 meals this week and we go to my parents' house for tea on Tuesdays so that takes us to Thursday. This weekend is bestie's hen weekend so I will be away Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The meals for the weekend are planned except Sunday tea which someone has suggested going out for. It will be fine, moneywise I seem to be keeping afloat at the moment.

I uplifted the money from the Christmas pot at the weekend. It will hit my account soon (takes one working day and I did it on Saturday night) and I can make a proper start on festive shopping :)

Going to see the fireworks at the local sports stadium on Wednesday night. We have gone the past few years and we really enjoy it. Best of all, bestie has insisted on paying for both LMG and for me as a thank you to me for organising the hen weekend (with help, I would like to add ;) couldn't have done it all myself).

I got some money from the CSA so managed to buy LMG a pair of boots for school. She has been wearing her converse but it is definitely a bit cooler now. She went to school this morning with them on and she was quite happy with her wee self :)

I am writing up a list of things I need to buy for the weekend. I will be popping to the supermarket on Wednesday afternoon.

I am in the £92k's with my mortgage! :j I am hoping that, if things keep going the way they are, I will be under £90k by the end of next year. The deposit pot is slowly increasing too.

I have juggled funds and the cc is now covered. It's pay by cash (or debit card) for non-budgetted items now until December at least.

Busy at work so must get on now that I have caught up with all diaries.;):D

  • I'm very jealous of the fireworks, I don't have anything like that planned down here. I had a lovely weekend away in Edin visiting all my old haunts (and friends), so feeling a little poor now, and must make sure I reign in all unnecessary spends this week!
I need to be more organised like you this weekend and work out an xmas shopping plan of action, but first it's my mum's birthday this weekend, so I need to get that out of the way mentally first.

Hope you have a good week, and your planning for the weekend away goes smoothly!

Thank you PP. I have the hen weekend this weekend and my sis's wedding on 29th November. I was just saying to friends earlier that I could do with a couple of sick days to catch up with myself. I want to spend 24 hours under the duvet then get up and clean the house!

I am lucky with Christmas as I don't have many to buy for so it is relatively straightforward. I don't feel worried about Christmas at all, it's all the stuff before that I'm concerned about.

  • Hey GAP! Finally refound your diary in my subscriptions. I think MSE is punishing me for going AWOL!
So much to catch up on and really exciting stuff. Loving the hen weekend stuff, the trips away, LMG's birthday etc. You've really kept in control through it all which is so impressive. Congrats on the mortgage and deposit pot too...it's really coming together!
Hope you're having a fantastic time. You deserve it :)

It was a great weekend! I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I managed to keep spending to a minimum but still have to find some money to balance the cc. I came home with some leftover bits and bobs so that was good. Nothing I can make a whole meal out of but extras that won't need to be bought on grocery day :)

When I got home LMG said: "I missed you. I didn't think I would, but I did." How lovely to be loved :happylove

Got a meeting tonight about the voluntary work. They are going to provide sandwiches for tea which is lovely of them but I usually go to the parents' for tea on a Tuesday anyway so it cancels out the free meal, iykwim. LMG is going to the parents' anyway :)

I feel like I have been away for weeks. We had no WiFi and no phone signal in the lodge so no internet for almost 4 days  I didn't miss the constant checking of the phone but I missed my bank account :o haha :D

  • Glad you had a good time this weekend, but I can totally relate to needing to balance the spending.
How did the volunteering meeting go?
