Obviously Nat West are going to be reluctant to talk to you about an account that isn't yours.
If the account isn't OP's, then the OP has nothing to worry about. The fact is that the account is OP's apparently and the problem wasn't with some password set by the fraudster and that the OP didn't know.
If the account really exists, then Natwest simply fobbed the OP off by saying that they couldn't identify it by the name, DOB and the address.0 -
I would also recommend www.freeidprotection.co.uk to you.
Unlike any other system, it would have prevented you from being a victim of this type of fraud in the first instance.0 -
Anyone have an address for Nat West fraud department where I can write. There is nothing on their website just phone numbers and that route did not work.0

Try the complaints form / complaints process. It's the only formal means you have. Trying to write to anyone else will just delay matters.

What is puzzling me is that NatWest require sight of various things like passports and credit cards to set up an account and this are all safely in my possession. How did the account get set up in the first place?
If you don't want this to happen, you can get a password lodged on your CRA files. You do this by a Notice Of Correction, which will mean that applications will be processed manually and only someone who knows the password will be able to open accounts or take out contracts.0 -

This makes no sense.
If the account isn't OP's, then the OP has nothing to worry about. The fact is that the account is OP's apparently and the problem wasn't with some password set by the fraudster and that the OP didn't know.
If the account really exists, then Natwest simply fobbed the OP off by saying that they couldn't identify it by the name, DOB and the address.
The OP has already stated that "phones4u said it had been paid for via a NatWest account set up in my name" and that "I do not bank at NatWest", so obviously the NatWest account isn't theirs.0 -
Seems a lot of trouble to go to for a Mobile Phone plus I do not have NatWest account, I do not bank there and never have yet they have set up a contract with Orange in that name. How does that work?0
