Ooh also I've booked onto a free NHS hypnobirthing class :) got the last space too! It's 2 x 3 hours in July. Hopefully it will be worthwhile, OH is dubious!

  • Flutter by is that at your hospital? A friend and I are going to a free taster session tomorrow and I said to her I'm sure you can do hypno or antenatal via NHS so she is going to ask her midwife next week.

Swaddling - the rules seems to change on all these things every week... I read somewhere it's also bad for their posture but who knows!

Oh no crazy, hope your dad has sorted it and it's easy to fix. A few years ago we had a leak in our roof which we didn't know about, were watching tv one night when there was a bang, ran upstairs and part of the ceiling had collapsed in our spare bedroom which annoyingly we had only decorated the week before!!

Well that wasn't a great nights sleep, it was too hot!! I'm really hoping the supposed hottest summer in years guesses is wrong!! Think it's going to be a struggle at work today!!

    Hope all is ok pigpen.

Psycho - yep at the local hospital. I only found out about it by accident, it was mentioned at the first antenatal class last wk and then by the BMI midwife too. They book up really fast here so I was lucky to get on it. I tried googling for info before and nothing came up so think it's a relatively new thing.

I have the day off today so going to rest and potter round house, may put the change table together. Didn't sleep very well, so a nap will be included! Need to pop to shops to pick up a few bits I've ordered too.

We swaddle Edward as he likes to feel cuddled, I certainly hadn't been told about sids risks and both the midwife and hv saw him swaddled.
  • All fixed now thanks! Hopefully anyway. It was the pipe to the tank and not the actual tank. It's made a real mess, but when it's all fully dried out it will hopefully not be a serious fix. Looking at it calmly now it could have been worse. But at 3 am with no sleep and panic it was a heartbreaker. Did have a cry for a while.

It is finally supposed to rain today! I hope so. Just to water the gardens and break the heat for a while. Huge thunder storms last night so I went for a sit out in the cool. But not a drop of rain :(
If I was braver and wasn't afraid of anyone coming to the door, I'd get in, undress and wander around in nothing. But thankfully (for everyone else around me!!) I'm not that brave.

Flutter.. The swaddling thing is advised against most places as babies wave their arms to cool themselves and if you do swaddle it is best to use a Muslim or cotton or linen sheet to avoid overheating.

We have just baked teeny in a swaddle .. Little beasty will sleep!!

Glad it's fixed CCL. I think a good cry was in order! If it makes you feel better I just cried over wrapping an item we sold on eBay. No rational reason for it. Just hormones. So I definitely would've blubbered in your situation! Xx

I was just googling for hynobirthing on the NHS in my local area and an organisation called one to one midmives showed up. Has anyone had any dealings with this organisation? They offer free hypnobirthing courses, you are allocated one named midwife throughout your pregnancy, 6 weeks postnatal support and it seems like much more. Sounds interesting!

I think that need to make a list questions to go prepared with next week at my next midwife appointment as I'm sure there's lots I should be asking/ thinking about but will forget on the day!!

Glad all is sorted crazy cat lady.
