Missy - hang on in there not long now
Katy - glad baby is back to behaving

38 weeks today and I finished work at lunchtime. It's all getting very real now. Saw the midwife and baby is still sat at the brim just waiting to engage. Erm get on with it baby!

What is it that makes them engage? Is it baby deciding to wriggle down, or is it our bodies getting ready and changing so baby has more room to wriggle down?
Just wondering if it is baby or mum who decides when engaging will happen!

It's definitely baby, my first was head down from 32 weeks but I've been told second's can bounce in and out.

Good luck to all ladies at due date and getting closer.

Afm I've got 9weeks left at work until maternity leave. Trying to save as much as I can.

Has anyone seen any good deals on muslin clothes? They were a godsend for us with my first who had horrendous reflux and sick all day long, so I want to stock up but begrudge paying more than a pound for each when they are just for catching mopping sick.

B and M bargains had a pack of three for ,£1.99 the other day. I've also stocked up on their packs of microfibre cleaning cloths too for using in reuseable nappies

Morning all, hope everyone is feeling ok this weekend

Me and OH realised that now it's August we are defiantly having a baby this month! Cue minor panic and plans to clean/sort everything. Good thing I've finally started my maternity leave.
  • How exciting pm04, is it your first?

Hoping the quietness means some babies have been born :)

    Hi ladies,

So sorry I've not been on. Ridiculously I found it much easier to log in at work so barely been on since mat leave started. I wish I could give you a lovely birth announcement, but I'm 41+1 & no baby! They think there might be an issue with my pelvis, whether tilted or a weird shape, as baby has never engaged even a smidge even though their head is exactly in the right place and they've been head down forever. No way to tell prior to labour though, so induction booked for Thursday at 40+12. C-section is not an eventuality, but a much stronger possibility than I've given head space for so currently mentally preparing for it. Just want baby here now safe & well.

Hope you're all OK. Been thinking of you all, just not been on the laptop! x
