Morning-ish everyone, just wanted to pop in to announce the safe arrival of my baby girl Amelie Rose at 11.02am on 10th March weighing 5lb 13.5ozs. She is beautiful and we're completely in love with her
I've put her photo in the Facebook group so you can see for yourself! (If anyone wants adding to the Facebook group just message me the email address you use to log in to Facebook).
She was delivered by elective c section due to her breech position and one of the doctors told me afterwards that the top of my uterus is kind of 'm' shaped so she had her head wedged in one side and was unlikely to have been able to turn so that was interesting to know.
The c section, although not pleasant, was nothing to worry about and we were sent home 48 hours later which was better than I expected and totally ready for after two nights on a ward! I'm a bit sore but just taking it easy and feeling loads better every day.
Amelie is just amazing, I could just stare at her all dayI can't believe we made her and I can't believe she's what's been in my tummy all this time! At the moment she's just sleeping probably 95% of the time but she will only sleep when being held so that makes sleeping for us more difficult! This is my second night at home and me and hubs have split the night into shifts to get some sleep! She's currently asleep on my left side as I write this on my phone with my right hand!
Good luck everyone with your impending arrivals, especially Bubble pops now you're top of the list!! X0 -
Congratulations Tilly dreams. She is absolutely gorgeous. We have the same outfit picked out for our going home outfit if she fits in to newborn size.
I'm 28 weeks today so now in the final trimester. House buying is progressing but now looking like we won't move until I am 37 weeks. Busy tidying and packing whilst I still can. Feel like I am rapidly expanding as I've gone from looking a bit pregnant to very pregnant.
Plan to pack hospital bag today and sort out what I need to buy for her arrival.0 -
Congratulations Tilly_dreams - what a lovely name. Glad everything was ok and hope you sort out the sleeping situation soon!!!
Ooh ashtray heart - house stuff never seems to fit in with real life does it?! Hope it all goes smoothly and baby and house coincide in a sensible time-frame!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -

XWe are so far breech this time too and this little lady (21wks) is firmly lodged into my right horn. I have 2 ecvs but she was too big to turn past the dip in the uterus. I will ask them if they can try an earlier turn this time. PS - Sleeping situation absolutely normal!! I would breast feed her then wake hubby up - he would hold her asleep whilst I went up - then he would wake me when she wanted feeding again - and just keep alternating all night. It was around 8 weeks before we had a change. She hated the moses basket.

What I personally concluded is that the injection is far more effective - it's a one off dose and gives immediate protection. The oral doses can be problematic - one can be missed, the baby can be ill and the efficacy itself is less than the injection form.

Thank you for that Aunty Pickle, I must admit I had very little knowledge of what the Vit K jab was for. I knew it helped prevent HDN, and I never thought of refusing it for my babies, but it was good to read those sources and find out more.

Just popping in to say hello.
Have been quite poorly (16mo has caught everything going and passed it on to mommy!) then a couple weeks ago my waters started leaking and baby looked like it had stopped growing. Spent a lot of time at hospital appointments but leaking has stopped and baby now appears to be growing well (4lb 4oz at 32+3!).
Is it 32 or 34wks that we should start using raspberry leaf tea? I also used EPO capsules last time but can't remember when I should take them. Anyone used either of them? XDD1 June 1997

Angelmommy - think i started drinking the tea at 32 weeks last time and built up to drinking more. Not sure what the 'actual' guideline is. I have read you shouldn't have it if you have had a previous c section so can't this time.
Congrats again Tilly and glad the c section went well.0 -

You're welcome - there are so many things to think about aren't there?! And not always a lot of information on things so I often go off and do my own research (I'm a bit kind of OCD like that).
I know that the NHS often has "tick boxes" and targets so sometimes it's hard to believe that they are entirely objective about things they recommend! (that's from someone whose mum is/was a GP (now retired) and I work in the NHS myself!)Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Had my whooping cough vaccine today. My arm is a bit sore but not too bad. Nurse who did it told me I was huge and looked like I was about to give birth. I was really offended as I don't think I'm actually that big. Other people tell me I look about 6 months but I am carrying all out front. I wish people wouldn't comment tbh.0
