    Probably not! :D

Have had four Sony Vaios previously and had few problems with them.
It's just that PCs tend to become 'clogged' with temporary internet files, etc ... and need defragging, etc.

With a Mac, you just enjoy surfing, with few problems so far.

Please tell me you're joking in that you paid over a grand for a computer to surf the internet.

And Audi stay in business, even though the cars are almost identical to the equivalent Skoda.

Yeah it's mad really, what effect brand snobbery really does to people. Not very MSE though and I'm sure very against Martin's ethos. What is it he tells us to do in supermarkets?

Just goes to show the power of consumerism I suppose, although more and more people are starting to see the light. Lidl and Aldi's increase in the market share is evidence of this.

Seems no matter what anyone says your not going to be happy about it.

I've had Apple products long before they became the must have item to buy, they have out lasted most of my friends cheap products and yes the initial purchase cost maybe a bit more expensive than your average cheap nasty laptop, I have always got my monies worth out of them.

From the get go they have the software on them most people will use as standard, none of this "oh I need to install this" before I can do this.

My Macbook, Mac Mini, iPhone, iPad, iPod and Apple TV work seamlessly together, and require none of this other software to be downloaded or drivers to be updated or extra hardware to be installed before it will work nonsense.

As they say you get what you pay for, you want a cheap nasty piece of plastic PC/Laptop then buy that.

Don't have a go at other people because they have chosen a product that is perfect for them to use and is compatible with all there other products.

I guess I just don't buy into the hype of overpriced apple products and of course I'm not the only one.

I owned a Samsung Ultrabook previously but with an i5 Processor. Also sold off due to lack of use :P Looks exactly the same as that one on Ebuyer.

I wouldn't count that one in the link as an equivilent with an i5 processor...
    Unix, not Linux.
    Yeah, my bad.

Windows 8 can also start up pretty quickly with an SSD. You do get fewer software problems with the Apple OS's though. Power management sometimes doesn't work and as you soon as you've done updates, stuff breaks on Windows machines depending on the drivers / manufacturer. The Ultrabook I had had problems with power management after updating Windows to 8. Closing and re-opening the lid didn't wake it up properly anymore. Apple hardware and software just works together as it's all from Apple.

My main laptop is a Samsung Chronos i7 running Windows 7 where I've stuck a 500GB SSD. Total cost is still £1100 for the machine. Zippy but build is a bit dodgy whereby a Macbook just feels more sturdy. I like the best of both worlds really.

    That would be nice.

I'm just trying to do my bit for MSE to help prevent people from buying overpriced products just because of a name.

Why should you decide to prevent people from buying a product, that you think is overpriced?

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean anyone else shouldn't buy it.

What you think is overpriced others might not!
