You are easily one of the nicest posters on here, LadyM, and you always seem to try and think the best of everyone:A

I have my moments, trust me! :rotfl:

I just try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but that is incredibly difficult when the evidence is stacked so high against someone. :(

  • Ethel & Co was not meant as an insult - I love those names & I am not exactly young myself anymore. I have a thing for vintage items & love classic older names that's why they were used. My cat is called Bertie & my sewing machine an older name too. I have a post on age in blogging so by no means was it meant in that way.

As to the W word it wasn't meant in the way taken - but a enter anything & everything way. I should really work on my articulation it seems

    Thanks.

Thanks Hayley, it's one of those words that means different things to different people I think. I'm sure you weren't trying to insult anyone. Good luck with the blog - I bet you weren't expecting such an interesting evening!!
  • No, never in a million years. I was expecting a quiet night in with a book & an early night.

Thank you for taking the time to read my responses & reply. It means a lot after the shenanigans of today

People think they are invincible from behind a keyboard.

Like most on here, I imagine, I have been a member of various forums over the past 20 years. On each and every one, at least one person has been reported deceased and turned out to be no such thing - and they were usually caught out in the same way toniq may have caught this person out.

Another which was nearly as bad in its way was a woman who claimed to be a vet and gave out advice on animal care - unfortunately she was no such thing and her 'advice' in a couple of cases at least had awful consequences. I think MSE has tighter rules on things like that.

Then there are always the folk who like to play good cop/bad cop with their seperate identities - unless the glorious day they forget to log out of one before posting as the other:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well that establishes your provenance (for me, anyway) - I was there at that time too and I remember that horrible episode and the several different ones that followed. I'll never know why people do this because they always get found out. It's almost like they want to be found out. I'm sure a team of psychiatrists would have a field day with it all. :D

I know, my own feeling about that episode was that the woman was very sad but she caused harm in her efforts to be important or accepted or something:(

I think this is disgusting. If i was Looking to buy from a company and found this rant i would not buy from them. If you didn't want to do a competitions for everyone to get more followers to try and expand your business the women should have Done it vial a newsletter sent to customers they they can only enter if they have signed up to receive it. Shocking attitude to have towards a community who via competitions get their business name out there.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree here, my dear.
This also is directed at those of you who seem to think this blogger is running a business.

She's not. She's a BEAUTY BLOGGER. She will be doing this as a hobby. She's clearly not doing this giveaway to just gain new followers or subscribers. If you take the time to read the initial post, you'll see it was meant as a giveaway to celebrate her reaching a 'followers' milestone.

So, you're upset that a young lass has got annoyed that people who don't read her blog are taking advantage of her spending money out of her own pocket for celebrating what looks like over a year of work on her blogging project?
She's not Procter and Gamble you know!

The reaction of people on here (granted, not all), is ridiculous. Yes, she said a rude word (on her own blog, you didn't have to read it, did you?), and she wanted to reward one of her followers to mark her milestone.
Well, she should just be hung drawn and quartered then eh?

    Wow.

Also, to the person who suggested she was making comments akin to !!!!!! shaming; come on! Don't push context into something to make it fit your bizarre agenda. The word who*e alone, without the context does not indicate anything of the sort. You know full well. Stop stirring rubbish.

I hardly ever post on here, I just tend to read the board, but I just had to post this as I feel really sorry for the girl. And she's had the guts to come on here and defend herself.

She puts herself out there, not anonymously may I point out, on the internet. If you don't like her blog, don't read it. Pretend it doesn't exist. It won't hurt you.
However, cowardly hiding behind an anonymous username on a message board and taking pot shots at a blogger who, shock horror, may have made an error in The way she put her point across...well, aren't you big and clever,

    No, you're not. You're bullying.

Hope you feel really proud of yourself for that. :T
