Teedy, so sorry to hear that you're having a bad week! you've inspired me to cut my waste considerably, although I dont think I achieved zero yet. Look forward now, today is a new day, and a new start! you'll be fine!
MikeD you're not a star at all! you're a superstar!!!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

thanks rosieben and lil-me for your suggestions......I normally just pay on my debit card, so it's easy to get to the till having overstuffed the trolley! I think it's a great idea to just take a limited amount of money with me. Think I'll draw out cash next month and leave the card at home....that way, like you say, I'll be less tempted to stick the "bargains" in the trolley unless I really do need them.
Teedy - you've made me go all warm (oops, not so sure that was a good thing.....just off to get the mop!:embarasse )0 -

Teedy, hope things settle down soon, sorry to hear you've been having a very bad week, I am sure however you'll be back on track in no time.
Bobbykins that is what I do, works pretty well for me, can't go overbudget if I only have my grocery purse with me which has my budget in at the start of the month. Whatevers left goes into my PMS tin. I do have the card in the car incase of emergencies but the embarrassment of having to leave a till somewhere and go to get it puts me off.
Right, did another little shop, it was a panic shop and I freely admit it as the kids break up today, just sandwich stuff mainly and some extra chicken tikka which was on offer (1/3 of the price) 6 boxes I think I got, which saves me making it for DPs sandwiches, all can be frozen too so won't get wasted. Best add that spending to my total. Think it was £17 ish for mine but will have to check the receipt as bought things for other people at the same time.
Going to do a full freezer list this evening (yes both of them what a task that will be) then fridge and pantry tomorrow, other 7 cupboards the day afteryes my hording is that bad!!! Determined to sort it however so will be meal plans and sticking to them!!!
One day I might be more organised...........

Have just updated my signature, now have £54 to last to end of month. Next delivery from Mr T is on Wednesday so need to order less than £120's worth of groceries. Should do that easily (famous last words :rotfl:) as usual order is around £70-£80 for a 14 day shop.
I still want my posts back though.

dawnylou, you didnt fail , you just didnt do as well as you hoped. A new month coming and all to play for, you,ve a lot going on, and although it,s all happy things it,s still stressful. Cut yourself a bit of slack, the world wont end for the sake of £30, next month you,ll do even better, you,ll see. Good luck:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

Hi everyone. Ive been on holiday so havn't had time to read all the posts so hope you are all on track. Ive just updated my sig and as long as i dont spend more than £17.95 for the rest of the month i will have managed to stay on budget for the month. I should be able to do it as ive just got back from doing the weekly shop. Treated us to some fresh raspberries and also got ingredients for a HM pizza base in the BM...Its in there now...its my first attempt so fingers crossed LOL. Good luck with the rest of the month everyone

Not doing too badly - but have cancelled my fruit box for Tuesday so I don't go over budget. Will get it next week instead which will be in Aug budget.
It's the supermarket shopping that still costs more than I think it should.Grocery challenge July £250
