Haven't flown at all but done a paid job, Pilates and done my CBT homework by having a lovely walk in the sun with Pip - there's been so much rain the fields are flooded and I had to do a diversion as I couldn't wade through the puddles (lakes) cos they'd go over the top of my wellies! Pip had a lovely time running through them.

LameWolf I know what you mean about worrying you said something out of turn cos I do that too. You are absolutely lovely, it's this bad old anxiety thing we suffer from. Maybe you could do what Honey Bear suggests and get an early night so then you don't have that worry?

Mummyof5 surely you're not old enough for a 24 year old?!! I'm sure she'll be thrilled with her presents.

Crowdpleaser I've heard iron tablets can upset people and make them have a bad tummy; hope it settles down as your body adjusts ((hugs))

Bossymoo no wonder DD is tired - swimming's great for that isn't it. Enjoy being cosy by the fire with your tablet.

Best sort out this paid job; DD will be home in an hour ....

Thank you, folks:A I know logic dictates that I won't upset/offend anyone, but such is my mega lack of self-confidence/self-esteem that I still go through the "fallout" every time.:(

Lamewolf, I like OH's pals, but I realised quite some time ago that if I went to bed superearly when some of them came round (or stayed), no one minded in the slightest. It means I can get a lovely early night and the possibility of saying something I later realised was inappropriate is diminished. Might that work as a tactic for you?
Sadly, no, it's not an option. Mr LW states quite firmly that "A" comes to see us both, and would be offended, or at least feel that he'd somehow upset me, if I were to absent myself from the lounge. I don't see it myself, as I can't imagine why on earth anyone would want to come and see me, but I must take Mr LW's word for it, as I'm useless at "reading" people iyswim. I try my best to arrange his visits for when we have dogs staying, (he adores dogs) but it's not always possible. I should mention, we started having him over when he separated from his (now ex) wife, so that he wouldn't have to sit in his little rented house on his own all the time.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I've done another hour, and that's it for me for the day. The kitchen, the dining room, the airlock, the stairs, the sitting room and my office (aka the RoD) are all looking considerably better than they did first thing this morning. Extra bedding has been supplied and the futon made up, four pillows are airing on our version of a maiden in the sitting room and OH is making me paella tonight.

It's not a bad old life.
    Better is good enough.

I'd come to see you.. I would absolutely love to see you.. and if you said anything to upset, offend or otherwise cause me distress I would tell you immediately.. not to stop you worrying but because that is what I do.

Would Mr A be coached to do that for you? To put your mind at rest? Would it even work? He could say 'I've had a great evening and you have not said anything to insult or upset me so please don't worry about it' he must know of your little quirks by now! Mr LW can tell you if you said anything stupid.. I often say stupid things lol.. that us usually greeted with people looking at me like I have 3 green heads!

    Just made twinks hobnobs
So did I but I call them Anzac biscuits
eldest has progress review days, she's supposed to work from home but hasn't had any work set so she's at a friends.

I used to call these waste of time days, so glad the school got rid of them.

Most of the house hoovered and mopped now. Biscuits cooling. Just going to shut the curtains then go and get the boys from school.

  • Hi all

Tired tonight. Made a stupid mistake at work today which isnt the end of the world but you know how you think "how did I do that???" Made myself look a bit of an idiot and had to grovel to my boss to say sorry.

There are 9 pairs of shoes (1 pair are mine) on the utility room floor plus 1 coat. No-one will move any of these to their proper homes. I give up.

It was very scary last night with the weather. We had 1 tile blown off the roof and 4 more have moved. So thats going to need a builder I guess - plus the car goes in for its MOT next week and I really hope its not going to be too expensive!

Anyway, going to have an hour doing a few jobs then thats it for today. Might sneak in a little glass of wine when I am done.
