Thanks, Brogden. £35, so at least I'm solvent till Tues. It was a lovely sunny day and I enjoyed being outside having a chat etc. Can't ask for more at the end of October! Cheered up a bit as well.
Now back home getting reorganised. Seeing if I can manoeuvre things around in my 'workroom' so I can get in there to work instead of leaving a trail around the house.
    Happy Sunday, everyone.

    Great stuff mate :) x

I am so pleased to hear you sounding so much perkier :)

    Onward and upward!

I admire you doing boot sale........cant stand them myself from a standing-in-a-damp-field-freezing-cold-for-very-little point of view. So well done for raising £35. We tend to live a hand to mouth existence too despite on good salaries and working blimmin hard to get them..............I work on the belief one day it wont be like this cos if I didn't it would all implode.....................:(

Me too Igamogem. I look forward to that day! I'm also a bit miffed. I thought payday was Tues, but it's not...it's Thurs! So still three days to go. I'll try to make them no spend days and when I get to Thurs I am going to update my YNAB and start using it properly again. I want next month's money to last out a lot better than the last couple of months.
I think it's like your envelope system, Brogden, but written down instead of actual money in envelopes.
I'll keep a record on here of how I get on.

Solar panels being fitted today :)

Hi HistoryBuff, Just caught up - well done on your boot sale and getting some cash in. We are living month to month too, am panicking about December now as only just have enough money to pay out DD's on 1st November then zilch as no more confirmed work from self employment :( it's coming up to our quiet time of year. Solar panels sound good - have thought about it often but the up front cost makes it difficult to even consider at the moment.

    Keep going
    xx

  • We have no upfront costs, NOA. The company put them in completely free, give us a four kilowatt per day allowance on electricity and divert the rest to themselves. What we get out of it is reduced electricity bills for no upfront costs to us!
We looked into it really carefully and couldn't see any catches. Hope we're right!

That sounds good! Am sure you are fine - I am getting inundated with sales calls for grants for solar panels - can't tell which is a scam and which is real!

  • First NSD down. Solar panels fitted. Great. Can't even see them from our garden. OH had tea ready when I got home. Thankful for that because otherwise I would have just gone to bed without eating. Really busy day today. Exhausted...

  • So, a better day today. Still really busy, but much more positive. No spending again and only one more day till payday! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. This month has been sooooo long!
Right, I'm going to have an active evening today continuing to organise the 'workroom'. Want to get some more stuff made this week. Got a day off on Fri, so going to try a different market in a nearby town to see if I can sell some of my makes.
