Reeling from the Reality Check

Thanks guys, I'm going to try selling the exercise bike I still have for £50 on local fb page. OH will have to pay for the fuel. It's a 32 mile round trip to work. I'm kicking myself really. I succumbed to bailing out daughter earlier in the month to the tune of £150 and, surprise, surprise, she can't pay it back! I now realise that I shouldn't have done this because I would have been ok otherwise. That is definitely the last time. I have said it before but this time I mean it. I can't help myself wanting to help, but now realise it doesn't help either of us in the long run.Feb 2014 to now

Hey, Brogden. Thanks for posting. I really identified with your diary too. The moment I suddenly realised the level of debt I was in I was horrified. It was being on here and seeing that I wasn't the only one that got me through the initial upheaval of setting up the payment plans. Well done to you as well. It's going to be a long haul!Feb 2014 to now

Hi again Historybuff,
I don't think the haul will be as long as we sometimes think. Just like me you have sort of 'fallen' into a self-managed DMP. I didn't realise at the time the ability this gives us to 'take the bull by the horns.' I am of course talking about direct dealing and F&F'sI know my progress will not be 'jaw dropping' for the next three or four months but I am hoping to post serious signature improvements next year!
I'm off to fry an egg now and have a fried egg butty

Limping along to the end of the month. 7 days to payday. And this time I am definitely going to manage the available money better next month. I need to get back onto YNAB I've lapsed a bit and taken my eye off the ball this last couple of months.
Just had a water bill in and the DD is going up from £35 per month to £53 from Nov! Gutted...It must have to do with son and his girlfriend staying so much. I need to steel myself to make him pay some towards it. I bet electricity will be up too
Having a bit of a down day today. Work is pants with tricky issues coming out of the woodwork left right and centre. I'd love to just go back to bed and curl up under the duvet...Feb 2014 to now

Work is pants here too HBYou're not alone! I've usually mostly enjoyed work but the times do change don't they? I live for time off and I am 'champing at the bit' that weekend is on the way :T
Your water bill is much less than mine. I'm paying £72 p.m. Whatever I do I cannot get people to be economical or the least bit sensible....oh well! My priority is the elaetricity - I didn't half get told off for that yesterday
Don't be down.....think of a little bit of time you will enjoy......the weekend? Let the thought of that get you through all the 'pantsishness'
