Lots of 'jobs' there now by GVJobs (greatvalue.org.uk/jobs or @GVJobs on Twitter, or GVJobs on Facebook)
However when you click on most jobs they do not exist! We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I think I almost applied to a job posted by them several days ago, that name rings a bell. I didn't in the end, but I'm sure I've previously applied to some others mentioned in this thread. It's irritating to have to navigate around so many fake jobs with no assistance from those wanting us to use that ridiculous website.
Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.0 -
I'm aware of some of the general processes for fake jobs on the Job Centre website to get adsense or CV library upload income and to try and persuade the unemployed to pay for private training courses, plus of course the usual stupid commission only jobs.
Is it possible that a recruitment agent who actually answers their landline and talks about the role could be up to something?
A recruitment agent answered my call and told me that the public sector job they were advertising is actually with my local council. They were specific about the client (unusual before a CV has been submitted) but were extremely vague about the department ('it could be anywhere in the council'). They urged me to submit my CV and they would call me back about the role.
I find it really hard to believe that my local council in Scotland would give a contract to a recruitment agent in London, one that says they recruit in the city and home counties. Another thing that triggers my suspicion is that the rate is higher than usual and the job entry requirements fairly basic and low.
The agents website is cheap and nasty looking and I couldn't find a company of that name in the Companies House database. The company address is simply one of those huge buildings where multiple companies are registered.
So on the one hand, they don't have the usual signs of being scamsters by blasting the same advert across multiple locations but on the other hand, I can't believe the job can be true as it pays too much for a simple job and my council, if they use recruitment agents at all, would probably use a local one, not one hundreds of miles away.
Thoughts please.
EDIT - I ran some of their web pages through Copyscape that detects web content plagiarism. Some of their pages had 50% of their content just copy and pasted from an actual recruitment agency in London that really exists....0 -
Don;t se ehow you can send them a CV anyway without knowing what kind of "job" at the council it is?
Councils have a huge variety of departments and types of jobs.
How can you send them a tailored CV without this information?
On that basis alone (regardless of whether it is a fake job or not - it probably is), I wouldn;t be sending them my CV.0 -

The NHS also have a dedicated jobs website. jobs.nhs.uk
I wouldn't trust any other advertisements for NHS jobs unless they link back to that site.0 -
There has been an update on channel 4 news tonight, but there isn't anything on the website, yet.
They report that one in five of the jobs on UJM is a duplicate, and that there are still problems with fake jobs. They used data analysis to find dodgy stuff and found loads!
I missed the numbers, I'll watch the repeat in an hour on 4+1 or post the video if they ever put it up (bit crap the channel4 catch up thing)0
