I was always told only one until EC and then all they spoke about was putting 2 back. We had to decide the day before ET what we wanted to do.

It's weird because every meeting prior to that they said they would only do 1 back because of my age (32) so not sure what prompted the change.

Ours seemed adamant it'll be one but I'm 33 so after reading your replies I'll remember this, and have a think in advance in case they do give us an option. Thanks for the heads up!

    2.15pm....getting nervous!

At every appt we'd had they said they only did single embryo transfer. All the info we were given said the same, as does their website. The only time transferring two was given to us as an option was when we were on our way to the room.

    Pink great news, so pleased.

Tea will be thinking of you today.

    Still can't through to FS.
  • Our clinic seem to transfer 2 as standard if it's a day 2 or day 3. Day 5 they only put one back unless you're over 38 (when the recommend 2) or paying for it yourself in which case you can choose. It's crazy how it varies isn't it? Exciting times though tea!!

Pink glad DH got the all clear :)

Hmmmmm. I wonder why the number of embies transferred is different for NHS vs private....

The way they explained it to us was that they only really recommend 1 at day 5 (NHS or private) due to risk of multiples but if not NHS you don't have to go with their 'recommendation'. I don't really know what to think but as we didn't get to day5 this time it wasn't really a consideration. I could be persuaded either way I think!

ETA: just saw your news, congrats Chickpea, that must be a relief.
