I haven't made any drastic changes to my diet. I figured as long as I don't eat huge amounts of anything in particular and have a varied diet I should be okay. I don't like a lot of the products you have to avoid anyway i.e. pate. I haven't consciously cut out alcohol but I don't generally drink much of it anyway, have a glass of wine maybe once a week.
I am trying to lose weight though, this is one of the reasons. Slow going though although I've lost a stone since Christmas.0 -

Happy weekend!

Hi ladies, I've got my appointment in the fertility clinic tomorrow, they have ben really helpful over the phone answering questions & apparently in theory we can have our consultation and be prescribed and issued climid the same day. My husband has had his SA on the NHS & we have the results that are fine & I had a HSG which was also all fine, so it does look like it is just the PCOS effecting ovulation which is our problem. My only worry is my BMI, I know I'm very overweight & I think a lot of that is due to the PCOS but I'm just worried we'll go through the consultation & then be told that I can't be given it until my BMI comes down. The doctors I saw on the nhs never mentioned my BMI as an issue with being prescribed Clomid, guess I'm just worrying about what will be the next hurdle put in our way.
Hugs to everyone who wants one!0 -
Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me delurking
Just wanted to comment on the pre conception check thing.
My sister (who is a junior doctor) told me I should go for one and get checked for rubella immunity, among other things, before starting TTC. I did not go - I actually think I asked on this thread or maybe one of the pregnancy threads and everyone basically told me 'you will be laughed at and they won't do anything'.
However, now my pregnancy blood tests have shown that I am not rubella immune (despite having had the vaccinations). You can't be vaccinated once you are already pregnant, and if you catch it during pregnancy it can cause awful problems for the baby like blindness. Now, it is probably not a problem as rubella (German measles) is very rare these days but I have been advised to 'be careful and stay away from anyone who has a rash or is unwell'! Given that I am a teacher in a school heaving with kids who are probably just the right age for their parents to have possibly refused the MMR when there was all the worry about autism....it is going to be easier said than done!
Anyway, I am not particularly worried but it is just an extra thing to be conscious of....so I do wish I had had the test before TTC and could have had a vaccination then.
Just thought I'd share! Back to lurking0 -
I found that out when I was pregnant first time daisygg. I had the mmr after I had her .
Sorry to hear af arrived Nicky.
No news here, no symptoms but probably still early. Am a bit hopeful this month as think we covered it well but sure I will be disappointed .0 -
Hi all - sorry to hear about AF showing up Nicky, fx for next month, it's only a numbers game is what I always used to tell myself when ttc number 1 - every AF brings you 1 month closer to that bfp!
I haven't tested today but since I tested at 12dpo and got a bfn am not hopeful - think I'm just having a funny cycle
Mrs TM please add me to the front page too!
