Hmmm, I see what you mean - OPK's may not help if the issue is getting OH to DTD, and it sounds like you're pretty tuned in with your body regardless. Maybe have the rest of this year with the pressure off, if you do DTD in the fertile window, then great, but if not - not to worry. Then you'll have had two? three? cycles off BC and then you can start being a bit more focused in the new year? That way you can say you've a) allowed your body to re-find it's natural rhythms, b) you've tried to allow things to "happen" naturally as OH thinks they will do so. Then he can't say you've not tried by his ideas, so come new year, you can go by yours instead! Does that make sense?

I'm just fed up with it all being on me. I have to properly force him to tell me this is what he wants. I understand his apprehensions and the reasons behind them but I want to make sure that mine are understood too.

I know when my body is in its fertile window, I haven't logged on to Ovia in days (naughty lulu) because there's been no other symptoms besides CM. If it was any other man they would jump at sex being on tap! My OH is the first guy I've been with who turns it down!

Hi Ladies, had been snooping the last few weeks and wondered if I could join?

I hope that is right. We got pregnant (with our first) 18 months after I came off the pill, sat in a restaurant saying "it isn't happening, let's just be the couple with a nice house, lots of holidays etc" unbeknown to us, was actually pregnant by a couple of weeks!! We decided to start trying again in July and so far nothing has happened, this is going to sound really really silly but I didn't actually know there was a "window" where to get pregnant so I'm trying to work our dtd to that window, first month of doing so. so bear with me because I do not know all he terms you use on here.

Welcome Mrshaworth - looks like we need to fill up the list with newbies now we have so many departing! There is a list on the first page with a bunch of terms. The ones we use most are:

AF - period
CM - cervical mucus
BFP or BFN - big fat positive or negative
OPK - ovulation predictor kit
HPT - home pregnancy test
CD - cycle date. The first day of AF is CD1.

Wow, congratulations Claire! Two in one day, yay!

Lulu - OH was a bit like your OH when trying for DS. Thought it would just happen and after a couple of cycles when it didn't he started to ask a bit more about when we should be dtd. Hopefully your OH will be the same.

Welcome Mrshaworth! I've been trying for #2 since July as well. It took us 4 months to get pregnant with DD 5 years ago, so I'm very concious that we've gone past that point already. Hopefully things will move more quickly for you now that you're tracking.

My OH got a lot more into it after the first 2 cycles when he realised babies don't magically happen, but he never checked my apps Mrs_I

I'd try and casually slip 'interesting fertility facts' in to conversation like how long the egg lives for etc, to educate but mostly encourage him to understand why I got frustrated every now and again. Sometimes he was receptive, sometimes not. I totally just gave him a heart attack when I called him, bless him.

Thanks for the thanks, but AF is still a few days away so I'm only cautiously happy at the mo. Definitely not leaving this board until I'm good and convinced by it all
